She's not Atoli. Tabby left the game to help Shino, plus Atoli didn't know Haseo when she first met him.

Concidering she's already had fleeting thoughts of leaving and not leaving, I think she'll come back regardless of whether she finishes becoming a nurse or not. Just a thought.

Yea. Roots and GU Vol 1 overlap a bit.

UPDATE: Oh my god. I just saw Roots last night (Dec. 9th) and heard Tabby's voice. The rest of the Roots cast was satisfying or atleast tolerable, but Tabby was...it made me physically f*cking ill.

I have NEVER said this about any dubbing changes in my entire career of anime fandom, but Tabby's voice makes the entirety of the Roots dub unwatchable. I had to go to the hospital it was so bad.

What hospital did you go to AuraTwilight? Hopefully they have a mental-ward, cuz you're crazy!!

How can you say that you were physically ill? I think you may have had a little too much exaggeration with your egg-nog.

I'm loving Roots. The cast is solid, and the dub is really well written! The Tabby character sounds really close to the original Japanese vers.

I can't wait til next week's ep!

It's great to see that many of you have been watching .hack//Roots as it's being broadcast on CN (especially those of you who've actually been waking up to catch the 5am airing!). I'm currently working on the .hack//Roots production team at Ocean Productions, it's definitely a pleasure to be part of the production of this awesome series. I'm excited to see all these discussions on Roots (both the original version as well as our dub), and it's been very interesting reading your comments and opinions.

AuraTwilight, I hope you don't stop watching Roots based on your opinion of Tabby's voice. We've cast this character in the same way we approached everyone else in this series; we've taken careful consideration into portraying each Player Character's online persona as well as their real-life personalities. Yes, Tabby is annoying - in fact, we've seen Haseo say that several times throughout the series (and let's not forget her scene in episode 3 when Tabby repeatedly asks Sakisaka if she's annoying). However, Tabby's character does develop in the latter half of the series, and we will see why she acts in this way. As for Tabby's voice, we've casted a very talented VA (Maryke Hendrikse) who's been doing a great job portraying a bubbly high school student (apparently it seems her performance is a little too effective for some). Maryke has intentionally been directed into this performance, and although many of say you find Tabby a little too annoying, we shouldn't overlook Umbra's comment on Tabby's Japanese VA:

I read many Japanese blogs and forums when Roots was being broadcast in Japan, and many Japanese fans actually shared the same sentiment that she is annoying. However, many of these fans were pleased with how Tabby's character rounded out in the end of the series. I hope you'll give the English Tabby a chance to develop her character throughout the later episodes too!

The Japanese VA is fine. The English one is annoying not because of it's bubblyness, but because it sounds like she has strep throat. Luckily I've already seen the entirety of the original broadcast, so I'm not missing anything by not watching the dub. Maryke Hendrikse is a talented VA. I've enjoyed her other works, but Tabby certainly isn't her best.

Tabby's english VA doesn't really bother me that much, it's only the fact the episodes being speeded up that piss me off. Maybe if the show airs only one commercail at a time then Tabby's voice won't be so annoying? Either way the VA, as odd as they are, fit with the characters well. The only voice I dislike is Tawaraya's, but like I said it's might be because CN's choice in speeding the episodes.

There's no 'end of', that's simply your opinion...

I don't like Tabby's voice, but in that sense I believe Hendrikse did a fairly good job portraying her, as Tabby has always been annoying.

I simply hope they have a good VA for Saburo.

tabby was alwasy annoyong...follow people around when they didnt want her...flaunting her boobs....teasing...and not kicking the ovan grunty....everybody kicked the ovan grunty!!!!!
