I just finished reading Death Note and, dammit, if I can't see similarities to Haruhi. D":
Light is a lot like Kyon, but more like Haruhi in ideals and views. Nagato and L are virtually the same, except Nagato isn't nearly as quirky. Koizumi fits the role of Ryuk(could also be argued that he and Haruhi make a better Light). Mikiru and Misa are similar, if only being bloody annoying all the time(and relying on male lead too much).
Kyon's sister = Sayu Yagami. :O CONSPIRACY!
I seriously need to get away from this anime. Haruhi's starting to corrupt my brain.
Discuss other animes that remind you of Haruhi. :0

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HARUHISM, just your brain can't handle the sheer awsome-ness that is someone who can re-create the world if someone didn't go out with them.

Well, i'll say the obvious:

Yes, the most screwed up anime(also, coincedently one of the most reknown/infamous) has more paralel's(it's the other way around in reality) to TMOSH than ANYTHING else.
For instance-some random giant thing's coming to destroy thing's=angel's.
yuki nagato is rei ayanami in a different light.
The inclusion of 'god' into the serie's which has many faction's out to try and see what they want come to fruition(which for haruhi coincedently is keeping her busy)
and yeah. Nuff said.

Is it just me, or does Haruhi look fat in this picture?
I was watching a AMV for the show, and i noticed that she looked really fat. Sorry if this is sort of offtopic, but i dident want to make a new thread for it.

I haven't seen the series at all and yet...for some reason...it seems to be more popular here in America than Japan.
As for the ending song, FYI for
ALL Haruhi fans, those that are going to the anime expo on Jun. 29 and it ends on Jul. 2nd, one the very first day...there's a dance contest which involves the ending song, Hare Hare Yukai.
And for those that tried registering for the dance contest...well...I'll give you a link in regards to the contest (rules and everything), which also displays a list of participants for the dance contest. So see if your group is in the contest (whether as the first 10 participants or alternates (substitutes) in case someone from any of the first ten don't have their last member or are missing a few members).
I'm taking part in the dance contest with a friend of mine and some of his classmates. We're in the contest as alternates. Group name: JOAP.
And...for those that tried to register...the due date for all applicants was the 5th of this month. So...for those that managed to turn them in before or on time...great job.
