And I don't see why people dislike Sakaki so much, especially when you consider the fact that he's just GU's Sora, the deluded child that thinks everything is a game.

So we have a ten year-old boy who's playing the game, he's just as smart as Sora and just as much of a jerk as Sora, so why is he so unpopular where Sora was so popular? O.o

I like Sakaki, he's one of my favourite characters.

well, perhaps they see Sakaki as a "18 years old guy" because of his appearance n personality that fits
and seeing him doing that, makes him hated more by people :p or maybe because he's always disturb haseo ?

Well, lets look atthe stats:

Sora was a PK
Sakaki is an advocate of peace

Both lie cheat and steal

Sora was a top level player

Sora is funny BOING
Sakaki is serious

Both get possessed
-Sora by Skeith
-Sakaki by AIDA

Sora was NOTORIOUS
Sakaki was Wellknown

Sora was mostly a solo player
Sakaki is in a guild

Sakaki is "so LAME!" compared to Sora

Sora was more of the renegade egomaniac, while Sakaki is a powerhungry egomaniac.

Also, Sora gets cool points for:
-Skeith
-Haseo somewhat reminds us of Sora

I just like Sora much better. He was usually upfront about what he wanted (Gimme your MA, or you're dead), while Sakaki is like a... politician.

So its their methods that differentiate Sora and Sakaki despite the fact that they share similar personalities traits, motives and are doomed to similar fates?

Despite being a Pacifist, Sakaki is quite... hypocritical. I mean, he did much more horrible things to Atoli than PK her.

Sakaki is also a high-level player and very popular.

Sakaki doesn't think The World is any more serious than Sora, he just dislikes PKs in the same way Sora disliked the Crimson Knights. I'm willing to bet that Sakaki was the victim of PKs upon starting the game and that's why he became a Pacifist rather than a PK himself.

Sora and Sakaki share similar goals, they both want to be the absolute strongest and will stop at nothing to achieve that, they also don't understand the seriousness of the situations they get themselves into. The only real difference is that Sora wants to be the strongest fighter while Sakaki wants to be, in effect, a god.

My loathing of Sakaki comes from just that... he uses dirty tricks and cheats that threaten players. We're going to suspend the whole "dude, it's a game/anime" argument...

if I were playing a game, and knew that data anomalies were the cause of people going into doll syndrome...   and I had possession of something that was not created by CC Corp and has a strong possibility of affecting people IRL...

I wouldn't be a fracking jerk and use it.

I mean, there's a level of ethics in gaming that you just can't break. The fact that he does that makes him a real jerk in my book.

He puts the KAK in Sakaki, if you get my drift.

He likes to SAK the KAK.

Edit: I have a similar stance against criminals who commit crimes against humanity.  I hope Ovan and Sakaki get their own Nuremberg trial... IRL.. after Vol 3. Or at least a 50 year prison sentence in solitary confinement at a super-max prison.

Uh...Sora is equally likely to use something like that, the only reason he didn't use a Guardian was because he believed he was the most powerful already.

Incidentally, maybe I like Sakaki because I like the 'criminal' players? O.o I have a certain obsession with looking at such people and figuring out what makes them tick.

Sakaki is interesting, because he goes against his morals in order to make The World the kind of place that a character like Gaspard can enjoy...Bordeaux is also very interesting. (Of course, Tenrow is the most interesting though.)

In Ovan and Sakaki's defenses, Sakaki did what he did for what he felt was for the good of the entire world (yes, that includes the real world) while Ovan is clearly not doing the things he does of his own free will,  what with being an AIDA-PC.
