The path to be a hero

"That's actually not as surprising as you may think it would be, considering the fact that Romeo needed to be mature and intelligent in order to come up with his brilliant plan to get around his lover's family to be with her," she returned with a wink. "But you certainly do know how to keep a girl on her tiptoes wondering what you'll reveal next. I honestly don't think I could ever find myself not interested in some part of your life, simply based on the past few days anyway. You won't let me down if I stay around for a little while, will you?" she continued to tease with a playful smile.

"So this is what had him so emotional... He seemed so...attached to this book. I wonder why..." she thought with a mental sigh. His previous reaction had made her feel a strong need to comfort him, let him know that whatever it was that made him upset didn't matter anymore... It was a scary feeling, but yet she still felt it in the back of her mind.

Alex: you are right about that one so really Romeo was quite the genius to figure out how to do all that to just be the one with the one he loved... yeah I won't let you down ( he pays for the book as he then turns to look at her as their eyes meet) only if your really willing to stay. ( his gaze seems sincere few moments pass until he finally looks away)

She managed to keep all but the barest of a blush from reaching her cheeks this time, but it took all of her will to do so. "As long as you give me reasons to, consider me willing," she finally replied, pulling her gaze away first. She looked out the windows to try to seem more calm than she actually was, but she knew it was fairly obvious that she was far from calm.

"Why is it that with just one line he can make me loose all sight of the side I try to show the world? I've never met someone that can do this to me... At least not that I remember... Could I have known him before the accident? Could that be why he can make me act this way?" she thought, making the butterflies in her chest flutter even more. "I need to stop this... I can't be like this. I'm going to mess up, and then what will I do? Luca will... I can't mess this up..."

As her blush began to fade, a second thought came to mind that she couldn't hold back. " 'Love is a smoke made with the fumes of sighs; Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes; Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers' tears; What is it else? A madness most discreet; A choking gall, and a preserving sweet.' " A smile lit her lips before she knew it, holding back a rich laughter. "Romeo truly was the perfect nickname for him..."

Alex: your really cute when your flustered (he smiles as the two walk outside) how this for a reason? ( he pulls her close as he leans in but he stops as a loud boom is heard In the distance as both his and Mariah's phones ring) dammit.. ( he answers the phone)

Voice:heros! a bomb went off near the opera house report on scene one the demands is for heros to arrive it seems as though they've rigged the building to explode if their demands aren't met they've rigged the building to blow but they don't want any police officials inside but they have door open for the heros of Sternbild

Alex: ( he hangs up) sorry miri we'll have to pick this up after we deal with this we'll meet back here? ( he turns to look in the direction the boom came from)...

“Uh, yeah, sure,” Mariah replied hurriedly, her thoughts running rampant for a variety of reasons, not all of them the bomb either. She had heard from his phone what the emergency was, and knew that she needed to get to the scene as soon as possible. At least she was dressed properly for this sort of thing.

“I guess I’ll see you there. Be safe,” she called as she ran towards the scene, a light shade of pink hitting her cheeks when she realized what she had said. ”Be safe? I’m getting in way over my head with him…” she thought before switching her thoughts solely to the bomb at the opera house. ”What could they want? There’s never been an incident like this in all the years that the games have been going on…”

“Guess you don’t have any information you’d like to share before our little rendezvous?” Luca called from beside Mariah, pulling her almost to a halt. Luca laughed, the mask he wore obscuring the entire left half of his face, but kept pace with her. “Well?”

“Uh, no. Nothing. Sorry, sir… I was trying before the call, but I have nothing as of now…” she replied timidly, although she kept running. They were getting close now.

“Hmm. Such a shame. Oh well. I can get this title on my own, no problem. I just like having help just in case,” he replied with a smirk.

Alex: ( he removes his contact lens as he throws his costume on and he places on his mask as he hops on his bike and he speeds off as he arrives on scene after luca and Mariah and the other heroes as the man called lunatics voice is heard through out the area)

Lunatic; good morning Sternbild!! Let's hear it for the heroes who have come out!! Ahahaha! Now then heroes come on inside and we'll explain the rules you see within this little opera house stands 3 villains and each villian contains a a number here's the deal you beat them you get the code you have a piece of the code to disarm the bomb here the locker if you can't disarm it in 7 minutes BOOM!! Poor little civilians will Unfortunately go bye bye!! Now then better hurry up heroes ta-ta hero-

Alex: ( he speeds off as he crashes into the opera house) I don't have time for games I'll take on all 3 of these so called villians if I have too! Like hell I'll just let kill these innocent people this isn't a game!

Lunatic: ( he appears out of shadows) oh but it is boy yo!!! It's a game good vs evil will the valiant heroes

Alex: ( he gets up from his bike as he walks towards lunatic) lets get this started I'll beat you down before you Ben realized what's happened

Man: ( Watching from a surveillance feed) I'm too hung over for this..

"Psyren, my sweet, you go after the first villain you can find. I'll take one as well, and it appears our newcomer friend will go for the third. Make him follow you afterwords and we'll meet up for the finale," Luca called softly to Mariah, earning a nod in return. "When you bring him to the finale, make sure to distract him. Do whatever it takes, but keep him from entering the numbers before I can, and in return I'll help you remember what your parents were like..."

His mental note made her cringe for a variety of reasons, but again, she nodded. She walked over to Alex with a heavy heart and relayed the message to him mentally. "Just try to get one number, Alex. I'll get the second and my acquaintance will get the third. In the end, we'll all meet at the actual bomb and disarm it together. It will be faster and more efficient that way...."

Alex: A woman's voice calls his name

VoIce from alex's memories: Alex!!

Alex: ( it seems strange as instead of his usual witty come back to psyren he remains silent and focused on the man infrontnof him)..... ( something seems off as he listens to lunatic talk so disregarding of human life and all of a sudden he clenches his fist and his face behind his mask is filled with anger) psyren...find the other one...Be careful (he walks slowly towards lunatic) stop your laughing.. I'm going to crush you

Lunatic: huh? Really ( shadows begin to dance and morph around the room) sure lets have some fun! Let's see if your as worthy as he says

Alex: stop talking and let's do this ( he starts his watch as the two begin their battle between power users)

"Please be careful," Mariah thought before turning back toward Luca and waving her hand before her. He took the cue and took off in the opposite direction as her in the hopes of finding the second of the three villains. Mariah took off on her own, mentally searching the place for any mental waves that screamed villainous. It didn't take long for either her or Luca to find who they were searching for, however.

Luca ran into a large room, which quickly fell dark and silent as soon as he entered it. "Come out, come out, wherever you are," he called with a smirk, while silently pooling his psychic energy into any and all objects nearby. A dark laugh replied to his taunt, obviously masculine and very deep. Whoever his opponent was to be, he would be powerful and dangerous. Just the way Luca liked.

Mariah encountered her villain in a similar way, although the lights remained on. A high-pitched laughter covered the room in a way that was almost painful. In fact, she noticed that it was indeed painful. "What is going on?" she thought, covering her ears as best as she could while still searching for the source of the sound.

"Psyren, hmm? I feel that name fits me a little more appropriately, wouldn't you say, lovely?" came the same voice, though in a much lower pitch. It was almost feminine, but yet it still retained a hint of a masculine growl to it that gave away the gender to anyone that could handle listening to it long enough. "Let's make a small wager, then, shall we? If you can defeat me and in turn save the pathetic civilians of this town, you can keep the name. If not, you'll die and I'll take it from you and use it for my own reputation. What do you say?"

"Try it," Mariah called in return as a faint blade began forming in her hand from seemingly nowhere. A loud screech from above told her that he gladly would.

Alex: ( he narrowly dodges an attacking shadow as a shadow creeps up from behind and lunatic forms out of the shadow behind him) tch! ( he throws a straight but misses and causes a crater in the wall) stop moving! Dammit

Lunatic: silly little hero it seems you don't understand it you can't hit me if you can't find me I'm a master of shadows ( spikes form from behind landing some good hits) even your own

Alex: dammit ( he continues on the defensive)

Lunatic: come on come on hurry it up!! Dont just die allready this is boring! ( a shadow forms to block a punch from Alex) well well that was Certaintly quick cannot be are you getting faster?

Alex: ( he pushes lunatic back as the shadows catch him and he lads gracefully on his feet) in done with my little warm up! ( he dashes at high speeds dodging any stacks from the shadows though he does get cuts and wounds from several attacks nothing major but he still manges to close the gap between te two and he lands a powerful hit only to be blocked by te shadows) dammit that's annoying!

Lunatic: frustrated little bugger aren't you what's the matter the fun just started! ( several shadows Begin to attack Alex as Alex finally manages one hit) looks like you won't be a wage of time after all!

"So, you dare to try to take my passcode, hero?" called the very masculine voice from the darkness. Luca laughed quickly at his words, shaking his head to himself.

"If you think I'm one of those typical 'do-gooder' heroes than you're sadly mistaken, friend. I'm my own hero, and I do what I do for me and me alone. Now, give me that number and I won't have to kill you," he called to the unknown man, his psychic grips on every possible item in the room. He was ready to do some damage as soon as the man gave away his position.

"Ha! You think you can just come in here and act like a badass and get what you want? Think again, pretty boy," called the voice. He was behind Luca, and very close. Just as Luca jumped away, rolling on the ground to gain a little extra distance, a large fist came down on the ground, cracking the solid cement. Luca didn't need lights to know the sound. "So he is as big as he sounds... Well then, I'll just have to make sure to avoid him, won't I?"

Based on the heavy footsteps, Luca began tossing the unknown items at him with his powers, if nothing else to confuse him. It sounded like it was beginning to work, as he began to hear more heavy swings at the ground in a variety of locations. "This is going to be too easy," he thought to himself with a smirk as he continued slinging the contents of the room at the hidden brute of a villain.

The 'wannabe Psyren,' it turned out, could actually levitate as well, which Mariah noticed as she dodged a dive attack he tried preforming. She got up quickly and swiped at him with her blade, which made contact with the skin of his right arm. Naturally, he reacted with a squeal of pain, which in turn caused Mariah to cringe. "How can I fight something that hurts me every time I hurt it?" she thought as she dodged another lunge attack, getting in a second small cut and receiving yet another painful squeal.

"You won't be able to beat me in time, lovely, for as you can see, the more you hurt me, the more you hurt yourself. It's a shame you won't be able to save all of those innocent people outside. They all had so much faith in you too..." he taunted before attacking again, screaming as he dove. It disorientated her momentarily, allowing the man to get a nice dagger cut in on her right shoulder. She gripped at the wound, but had to quickly counter his dagger with her own blade, which almost knocked her over. "Just give up and die. It will be a lot easier on you, I promise, lovely..."

"Screw you," Mariah replied before pushing against him as hard as she could, knocking him to the ground.

Lunatic: come on come on come on!( the shadows form into fists as they pound Alex Ito the opposite wall) come now this can't be it your supposed to be the new hero the new big guy the new king but what's this you can even stop a measly villian your just gonna sit there and watch this city burn starting with those poor people!

Alex:( he remains motionless as the voices and images from his memory grow stronger and stronger) stop it! ( he jumps from the wall as he lands a powerful punch in contact with a shadow but he manages to break through as he nails lunatic in the face) I'm not gonna let it end like this! The people of this city are counting me on I'll save this city from assholes like you ( he gets Ito a fighting trance as he charges lunatic avoiding oncoming shadow strikes and he catches another fist attack with his strength) you wanted a good time huh? Careful what you wish for ( he throws the shadow out of the way as he he begins to fight off the oncoming attacks) 3 minutes till I reach my limit..

Lunatic: oh?! ( as shadows begin overtaking the area and they begin to attack more furiously the before where lunatic it looks like he skates on the shadows as he heads right for Alex) come on then mr. Hero.. No ZETMAN!!



Man: ( watching the surveillance footage of the fight) ...???

Once Luca felt satisfied that the brute of a villain was completely dazed and confused, he followed the heavy breaths and went in for the kill. He landed a few strikes that would kill the average person, but was met with a thick layer of skin and an even thicker layer of muscle. The man beneath the strikes simply laughed, as if he was being tickled, before slapping Luca away. He landed into the wall with enough force to knock your average person unconscious forever. He slid to the ground with a faint grunt before rolling to the right just in time to dodge another heavy punch. This time he could feel shards of concrete from the impact. This was more dangerous than he had anticipated, but yet he simply smirked and continued throwing objects toward the brute.

"Is that all you've got, tiny man?" the villain called from the darkness. "If so, I want to go ahead and crush you now. You're beginning to irritate me."

Luca fought off the urge to toss back a comeback and opted to remain hidden in silence, continuously throwing objects at the brute. If he could get one more opportunity like he had before, he believed he could end this fight.

The man looked up at Mariah with large eyes before screaming once more, this one loud enough to take her to her knees. He flew away, much to her happiness, and gave her a few seconds to recover. She felt a faint line of warmth trickle down her neck, which she discovered was a thin line of blood coming from her ears. If she didn't hurry, he was seriously going to kill her.

The next dive attack the man preformed, Mariah allowed him to get just to her, his dagger literally inches away from her throat, before she entered his mind, calling out, "Can you really hurt me, Richard? It's me, you're wife Anita..." The words staggered him dramatically, freezing him mid-air.

"A..Anita?" he replied, shaking his head back and forth in disbelief. "N-No! It can't be. She died on Lost Christmas. I saw her die!"

"No you didn't, my sweet Richard," Mariah continued to say mentally, her voice beginning to morph into the memory of his dead wife. It was a trick she hated using, but when push came to shove, she had to do what she had to do to live. "I lived, just as you did, cursed with these horrid powers... Come to me, my sweet. I've missed you so..."

"N-no... You... can't be... Anita?" he finally replied, his tone almost a whisper at this point. He had grounded himself at this point, but still remained a good distance away from her just in case. "But how you've changed... My darling Anita looked nothing like you... Did she?"

---elsewhere in the opera house are the other heroes fighting off the commo goons trying to make their way there as the king arrives on scene---

King: ( he rushes in and makes quick work of the goons infront of him as he makes his way towards the area where Alex is)

Announcer: and ladies gentleman 3 heroes are fighting these deadly self proclaimed villians! I'm a power struggle death match as the king of heroes has arrived!!! It's time for our king to shine ohh what's this it looks like sets man battle is turning around in hIs favor oh no wait is this it for our new hero! Cross your fingers folks and stay tuned!!

Alex: ( he runs towards lunatic as lunatic skates on the shadows and dances around Alex and the two power users clash in a flurry of furious strikes and blows as Alex narrowly dodges a strike he gets close enough to lunatic) game over you crazy bastard!!

Luca could tell from the grunts and cries alone than he had the villain on the brink of madness with his constant projectiles. When Luca heard him go on a crushing rampage in an area close by, he pulled everything in at once, causing the brute to fall to the ground with a loud growl. He grabbed a rather large shard of concrete from where he had been thrown into the wall with his powers and laughed softly before tossing it into the general area of the villain's chest. Judging on the sound he made, Luca had hit his mark. As soon as he felt the villain begin to try pulling the large shrapnel out, Luca pushed his powers harder, forcing it further into his chest.

"You should have listened to me and this wouldn't have had to happen," Luca called as he approached the dying villain's corpse. He dodged another swipe, landing on the lower half of his torso in the process. "But at least you gave me a little bit of fun for the effort. I'll be taking your code now."

"It's....Nine....." the villain muttered with his dying breath, his muscular form going utterly lifeless underneath Luca's feet.

"Nine. Great. Now to just get back to my sweet Psyren so I can finish this up..." Luca thought as he made his way to the entrance.

"It's been so long since I've last seen you, my sweet. The accident left both of us different, but I could never forget the face of my love. It left me changed in more ways than one, however... Please don't find the new me unattractive. I'm still your loving wife, no matter how I look..." Mariah continued in the mental tone of the man's long dead wife. He didn't flinch back as she grew closer, her hand extended as if seeking his comfort and compassion. "Please, my love... Accept me. Love me..."

As soon as he took her hand in his, a frown lit her face. She clutched his hand tightly, though in a way that someone clutches to her lover's for comfort, and whispered, "Forgive me," in her own voice. It was then that the man came back to reality. He tried to scream again, to pull away from her, but it was too late. Her psychic blade sliced through his throat easily and almost painlessly, cutting off any and all sounds from him. He fell to her feet, mouthing something in his final moments. She read his mind and found out exactly what it was he was struggling to say: "Five."

The blade vanished in her hand as she turned to leave the room. She had to get back and make sure that Alex was okay, and hopefully bring back the number that would save the civilians.

Alex: ( he lands a powerful punch to lunatics stomach slamming him against the wall and he continuously lands hit after hit as he knocks lunatic Ito the wall but he continues his attack a flurry of punches causing a crater to form as he the lands a final punch knocking lunatic flying into the main area of the opera house where the hostages are tied up on stage) over you crazy bastard ( he looks at his watch as it flashes red reading 0:00) *breathing heavily*

Lunatic: ahahahahahaha ( he jumps up) Aahahahah! That was good that was a fantastic punch I want to continue this little game! It's so riveting that last punch so much power it was incredible! I can believe he was right about you! But unfortunately I'm out of time and so are these poor poor people ( he tosses a card to Alex with the number 3 on it ) better hurry Zetman you don't have a lot of time ( he vanishes)

Alex: damn ( he begins walking over to the devic with a limp cause hes injured from the fight) **** were runnin out of time ( he looks at the panic stricken faces of the people as he realizes how afraid some of these people are)

Man watching from surveillance: you can't save everyone Alex...it's time you realize that

Mariah returned to the device mere seconds before Luca did. Both were breathing heavily, although Luca was clearly in better shape after his fight. Mariah still had trails of blood dried to the side of her face and neck, after all. Luca was dusty, but other than that, unscathed.

"What's your numbers?" Luca called as he drew closer to the device. He mentally called, "Remember our deal..." to Mariah, causing her to call her number out instinctively.

"Five," she screamed, glancing at the gathered crowd with a hesitant gaze. She didn't know how much time was left, but it was clearly not much. "Please let us be in time.... Please...."

Alex: 3 ( he gets knocke Into the wall by a man wearing a mask as the man closes in on Alex he grab him by the throat)

Man: you can't save everyone remember you were powers than and your even more powerless now ( he moves closer to Alex's face as the man reveals a amber eye though it's the opposite of Alex's)

Alex: damn- ( he recognizes the eye) *gah* ( the man grip tightens revealing he has some sort of super human strength) I'm not Gina let you do this! ( he manages to escape te grip though his watch still flashes red) If I continue using my power I can place a strain on my body I can't... dammit! ( he runs at the man as he swings several punches and a roundhouse licks that the man catches as he throws Alex to the ground)

Man: the wonderful flames will dance as this little game reaches its end!

Alex: don't do this! ( he grab te man by his collar)

Man: you have a choice save the people or save the heroes who are disarming the bomb either way it's set to explode you lost poor poor Alex! I'd say you have a minute

Alex: ( he activates hisnpower despite the limit was reached as he runs at full speed to the area with the Bomb as he runs past luca and Miri) Get out of te building now!!! Miri take your partner with you this was all set up from the start! ( he holds out his hand to scared civilian as he tries to reach them)

"What? No way!" Mariah replied back, her mental tone and expression both terrified. "Luca, this whole thing was a setup. We have to go and help him!"

"Why should I help him? He's only in my way as it is. If he goes, it's one less step in my plan."

"Damn it, Luca! If he goes, then so do I, which leaves you seriously disabled! Would you really lose me just to have an easier win?! I thought you were strong enough to take him out on your own, anyway! If you do this, you'll look like a coward King!" Mariah mentally shouted back before taking off running after Alex. Luca grit his teeth together and gripped his hands into fists so hard his palms began to bleed at her words. He took off behind her, although he was not happy about it.

Mariah and Luca finally caught up to Alex just as he approached the second bomb. She shouted to Alex, "Just forget it! There's nothing we can do now!" hoping that he would listen, but she had a horrible feeling that he wouldn't.

Alex: I can't let it happen again I can't let it happen again I can't! You should leave while you still can ! ( he runs faster as cracks can be ward coming from his legs due to the strain on his body but he runs ahead of them as he finally jumps and he reaches out his hand to the frightened hostage to him it's as of time slowed down as soon as a boom can e heard a the bombs begin to set off and he gets thrown back)

King: get down!! ( he creats a field of pure energy to shield himself along with luca and Miri as they also get throws out of the building and the live camera feeds get cut off as well

Alex: ( gets tossed out a window as he crashes to the ground as his powers finally deactivate) I can't do anything...I'm completely powerless!! Dammit dammit..DAAMMIIITTTTT!!!

Announcer: ( shows the ratings as it shows how luca jumped up ahead due to his attempt at deactivating the bombs Alon with Alex and Miri who fought off the villains and kings heroics) we have lost the feeds but it looks like the threat overwhelmed are heroes tey have tried this is the first time your experiencing it folks it is a sad day indeed for hero tv this is your announcer signing off see you next time..
