A simple game mechanic. Key items stay with you no matter what.
In reality, Kite should have been able to give it away or dispose of it.

Most likely he was a admin so key item rules probably do not apply to them. Also in real mmo's there are no key items. So key items only are key items to Kite for the sole purpose of the game.

i have another question if you cant get rid of key items then why were some weapons put in key items then given to party members?

That is because a certain character asks for it and the game designers don't want you to use/lose it and then you can't advance the story.

You CAN trade key items,well...some of them...It's just that any Kite got he either wanted himself,or figured were to dangerous to give to someeon.like the books.
