It's Doper-chan's nickname for Yowkow/Alkaids.

  Ovan isn't the sole cause of all the comas. Any AIDA-PC can cause comas. Ovan could be the source of the AIDA but he didn't personally PK all the Lost Ones. In fact the only one we know of is Shino.

I don't know why but something is told me that PK of Ovan to Shino could be an accident. But I see only a little bit of the Roots so I'm not sure

 well you didnt really technicly "kill" or defeat Ovan, since he comes back looking like he's fine. But i never played Vol.2 and only watched the cutscenes so idk what happens after the battle with Ovan.

I do wonder what event/ how she returns to the world. That'd be weird if thats the cause of the form change.

Maby she wakes up from alone. It wouldn't be the first one of the .hack Story think on Liminality. But I'm not sure

Mai was made comatose just like everyone else, but she wasn't entirely "Into" the game, because her thoughts were on other matters. She didn't let herself get caught in the Suspension of Disbelief MMO's require, and was thus dissasociated, thus instead of thinking "OH MY GOD I'M DEAD!" She was just like "Wait, it's just a game, why the f*ck am I in a coma? Guess I better get up then."

I thought it was because something was up with her. Didn't she hear the phases before they showed up or something?

Well, because she was dissociated, like I said above, she was able to hear the A Note, so she wasn't pulled into the trance.

So as long as if you're not into the game at the time of Data Drain. You won't be put into a coma? Well this sure does explain the theory about only being comatose by shock from Data Drain.
