I honestly don't like the idea one being making everything. On the other hand, what came before the big bang? That's just it; no body knows for certain. If anyone did, it would become fact rather than faith. I love to debate religions, but I don't really buy-into any faith. I don't believe in the Abrahamic religions because the idea of heaven and that this life doesn't really matter disagrees with the very core of my being. I know Judaism doesn't necesarily believe in heaven, but it has to many rules that seem arbitrary (like the kosher laws; I'm not giving up cheeseburgers for God) for my taste. Hinduism is too ordered; Satanism has to much baggage, Paganism sounds cool but i don't know anything about it, Confuscianism is too inflexible, Budhism disregards the material possessions to much, Taoism's wu wei (think path of least resistance unless I'm mistaken) is a tad to 'lay down and die' for me (it is the easiest thing in the world to do). I can find something I disagree with in every religion with the possible exception of my own, Unitarian Universalism. But that is just because the entire religion consists of 7 principles and whatever you think is right.
Now, I want to make this very clear. If you belong (there's a term I don't like) or believe in any religion I mentioned understand that I meant no offence. I was just saying it wasn't for me. Also, forgive me if I misunderstood or was just plain wrong about your religion; it wasn't on purpose. So for now, you may call me a rabid atheist/agnostic, or godless heathen. I personally prefer the heathen one, but whatever.

That's about my belief as well. I do believe in God, but I don't like the groups that really force the idea onto people. The whole deal is that they have to choose it, we can only give them that option.Aera wrote:k well i do believe in God, and i'm a devout believer at that.
But i dislike how religion is portrayed today, as those certain groups of Chistians that force religion onto other countries just give us all a bad rap.
I'm happy with how this topic is going so far. On too many forums you see this kind of thing go out of hand.

Amen. Amen. You can be a missionary and a good witness without being an ass about it. I hate being pulled into a category with the other members of the "religious right" who profess to believe in a religion of acceptance and peace, but who can't stand it when people have different ideas.Aera wrote:k well i do believe in God, and i'm a devout believer at that.

^ i agree with what chaotic sixx says, as long as no one is hurt then its okchaotic sixx wrote:I don't believe in god or any gods but I always respect anyone who does believe there is. It's just a shame that people can't just let people believe what they want, as long as it hurts nobody, then surely it's okay?

O.o It was simply appropriate to the comment you had commented on...
The whole 'God is the GM' thing... Daedalus said they had a fear of getting banned for life, upon which you said most things that happen are what you do to yourself...
I said that you'd only get banned because of things you did to yourself, as that's how a forum works.
I don't threaten people. ¬_¬ But it seems quite stupid to have to pick apart a joke like that.

I believe in god. And I believe that god gave us science. In the Bible it also says that one day to him is like a thousand years (so to speak) so what I am also kind of thinking is that with the seven days it took him to create the Earth evolution, etc. happened then. It fits both theories (though I do not entirely believe the whole evolution could've happened then thing).
Just remember Kite can defeat Haseo and Co. with one skill, Drain Heart! Also, he loves cheese! So remember that next time you compare the two series!
Yes, because secularists never start wars for non-religious reasons. (money, power, political influence, territory, resources, racism, etc.).Darkmetrau wrote:i dont belive in anything i know it sounds dumb but religon causes more trubble then its worth ie war
The fact is that a majority of "religious wars" aren't even carried out in religious conviction or devotion. Religion is only used as a tool to rally people into fighting for their cause which just so happens to have nothing to do with the religion anyways. Hitler, clearly not religious, used Christian references in his speech to tell the people God was on their side. So there is, in fact, a difference between a religious war, and a war with religious propaganda.
I have an old friend who always says "When someone wants you to hate someone else, always look to where the money and the power is."
I believe there is a god, but I don't like religion very much... I really can't stand some of their "holier than thou" attitudes. Not that all religious people are bad, but I just don't think they should force their beliefs on others or say someone isn't "good" enough just because they believe something different.
Sorry for rambling.
