Game website calls up Namco Bandai PR and asks for a release date. PR states "stfu, we ain't releasing it yet."

1. When all else fails, some game website lists a release date based on nothingness.
2. Another game website sees that a rival site has a release date listed.
3. Game website #2 lists that release date.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
5. Some game magazine writer googles .hack//G.U. rebirth release date... clicks on the first query result, and it gets entered in to the magazine.

It's an evil cycle. IGN had Rebirth listed as a December 2005 release once, among other things. There's basically no integrity on any of the websites and retailers release dates until Namco Bandai announces it. I've been in contact with Namco Bandai's PR, and they have stated there is no set day and month yet.

I got mine reserved with the figure. Yay another limited edition item from .hack// for the Laysh :3

Considering .hack's popularity in America, I don't expect it to be flying off the shelves on day one. I'll wait for it to be released. I don't really see a reason to reserve a copy.

itll be interesting to see the reviews for GU. The 4ps werent so high.

the .hack series is so unpopular here. i gotta preorder it just to be able to get the game. the stores near here don't plan on having any copies for the release date without a preorder

I reserved/pre-ordered 2 of the
.hack//GU game because I will need one for me
and for one to sell to my friend who would
buy it alrady from me.

I hope gaming magaines aren't becoming too lazy to review games and give out information on when they are going to be out on shelves. Thanks for the response.

i got it reserved in june then when i went back to gamestop to ask when it was coming out they said i id the regular game reserved so then i had it changed so i could get the game and the figure our whatever it is lol

I got mine on reserve in april. Fully paid for, with Wow burning crusade too.

I got mine on April too! I didn't preorder it with the figure though... but oh well, at least I'm getting it.
