I do not mean to insult you, but the fact is released in .hack//analysis, a very important part of .hack, that never came to the states that talked about all the stuff that wasn't explained for the most part. The only reason this Cubis is a protection program got started is through the American translator's mistakes, and speculations for the disc.

So are there an translation sites for //analasys like their are for Perfect works and other JP only books?

Staying on topic, I think it was a indiscriminate choice.

She couldn't have known that orca would of been there, or had a friend that was joining. She back be the *perect AI* but shes not god. I think she found orca to be strong, and gave him the book. However, he was data drained before he could use it, so Aura used it on kite instead.

Actually I was always under the impression Helba made it that way, Helba is a cunning strategist, not heartless, but when a sacrifice can be made for the good of "The World" she would have no reason to let it pass her by. She could have saved Orca, but odds are she thought Orca was too much like Balmung and let him fall, as well installing the book into Kite herself. Giving Kite reasoning to go on his quest, if it as as I have said, a very smart choice for Helba.

Anyone ever notice that Skeith never "Protect break"ed Kite? He kinda stood there. I think Aura intended to give the book/bracelet to Orca, but Skeith intercepted Orca before he could gate out to safety. After Helba transported Kite to Net Slum before the server crash, Kite was the last to know of the book (besides Helba, which probably refused the item as she is kinda high profile to the admins for being a well known hacker) and it was entrusted to Kite. Since Kite, Balmung, and BlackRose were forced into the Data Bug battle, Aura had no choice but to tell Kite to use the book, otherwise the file might have been damaged/deleted, so Kite ultimately had the power of the bracelet forced upon him due to that event.

That's what I think, I don't see why Aura would simply entrust a powerful item to a newb on his first day on the game.

Now, combine both yours and mine, and we have ourselves a perfect explaination.
Aura chose Orca because of data she recieved from Lycoris, but Skeith stopped Orca, and the book was forced unto Kite.
That sounds better than anything I've ever heard before.

Just to clarify, Aura's the Ultimate AI, not the Perfect one. There's a huge difference. and she's nt even the Ultimate AI until after Quarantine, so it's not even true then. However, she is God

Aura was fragmented by Skeith at the end of Infection at Morganna's will to keep her from being born (and ultimately being born as the "ultimate" AI). As seen at the end of Quarantine, Aura's 3 fragments were pieced together again and she assisted in the defeat of the Wave.

Once again, this is what I get out of it.

Aura wasn't complete until the Wave was defeated and she absorbed Morganna. Simple as that.

I thought is was when she was forged, but now that I think of it, "to be born, she had to die"...

Yea, and her "Death" was when she was crucified by Kite in the Corbenic battle. When she was fragmented by Data Drain, it was her version of being made comatose.
