Akira wrote::twisted: i guess you do hav a point Darkmetrau, cause takin into consideration that .hack is a 4part series (excluding the new .hack//rebirth series) but playing it again and lvl'in up your character more while gettin more items would be better to start mutation with, would it not?
But the thing is that it's pointless to level up after beating a given game, because you can level up faster if you have access to the higher-level fields and better items in the next game. Aside from possibly some trade items and dialog, anything you can do after beating Infection you can do in Quarantine.
This is true for all the games, the only exceptions are the SIGN cameos in Mutation and Outbreak, I believe. I replayed all four games last month before I got Rebirth, and I did it all without ever getting Nuke or fighting the Parasite Dragon (stupid thing killed me the first time when I was like level 20-something). Not like I hate Nuke, I was just procrastinating, which this game is good for ^^;;;

i see your point it would be pointless and a bit ridiculous to carry on playing.

Oh, come on. There's nothing wrong with playing games a LOOOOONG time after they've come out. I only finished ToS a week ago. And only recently beat C&C: RA 2. Give the 'em a break.
Hey Thanks :)
but you also have to take into consideration that because im only playing infection now that im way behind all o you guys and have catching up to do to really stay intune with dot hack.

GGOGOGOOOGOGOGOGOG!!!!!11!1!11one!11!
Then, if you are bored sometime, go back and do the rest.
That's what I do for every game I play.

Contrary to polular belief, the creators of .hack// are humans too. And humans are lazy. They would never make a huge, intricate side-quest, only to have it unseen by 1/2 of the people who actually beat the game.

AKA, there are no side-quests that you can't do again some other time.
So no, you wouldn't have to start over. And even if you did, all the 'important stuff' is in the main quest. So you can't miss it.
lol so so true but no mata how lazy we are we all like a lil challenge ryt? and especially when it comes to solving puzzles and so forth in rpg's. but i get what you saying, thanks for the advice

so you'v played mutation before infection? usually sequels are beter then ther 1st installments though, so im not suprised that you like mutation better. But i feel its always best to start at the beginin with games like the hack series cause it gives you a good feel o the story line as you go along.

Good deal for me!
I finally got a PS2 to play my copies of Infection and Mutation.
Even though the PS2's borrowed...
I can't get one til the weathers "not nice anymore"...

Anyways.
In .hack//Another Birth((I know this is kind-of offtopic but...)), BlackRose ROLLS. Is there even any way to roll in the games? I was playing and I really want to be able to roll... ><

Also.
I read on a website that BlackRose comes with you to Delta Expansive Haunted Sea Of Sand, but in Another Birth and the game that's untrue. Comments?

Hmmm... I finished Quarantine many many moons ago (3 days after the US release), so I can't help too incredibly much BUT I don't think there is any ability to roll in the regular PS2 games. Though I must say... that would be pretty entertaining. The item quest got REALLY boring, and I can tell you, I started doing some pretty goofy things in-game while grinding away at random monsters just to get what I needed. And no, I won't tell you what you get when you 100% clear the item quest, and every single other bloody thing in the game, lol.

Wow, I was obsessed...

Now, as far as Delta Expansive Haunted Sea of Sand, is that in Mutation? Like I said, it's been awhile, so it might take a bit for me to remember, but let me know and I'll look it up for you, even if I have to play the game over again. You know, come to think of it, the first time I used my alias was back in the .hack games...

Yeaa. About that. I figured out that most of the people in the stimulated MMORPG are on at the same time as you, so it's really your choice if BlackRose comes with you or not.

I really wanna roll (T_T)
I was playing The Legend Of Zelda Orcarina Of Time((Yayy, old school, haha)), and I figured out:
Rolling is the best thing you could possibly do, and it's fun and timesaving, too!
Z-Targeting is the most useful invention EVER.

Yeah.... I beat all the games. I had all my Ryu books maxed out, had all the items for that complete item list thing, all side quests, grunties, all my friends level 99 (me too), had over 300 hours of game play, everything... right up to the very last thing to do in QUARANTINE. Then one day, that fateful sad day, this stupid ass fat kid somehow broke my memory card and all of my data was lost. Everything.... everything was gone. I know it may seem stupid to get upset over that but I really felt like beating that kid up. And even to this day I still feel like hurting that kid. Tell me, has this ever happened to you? If it has or something similar, I feel for you.

Ohmigod.
Another one. -shakes head sadly-
Haha
I'm still feeling resentment over mine, too.
And this was in like, first grade...
I let some stupid kid play my totally completed Harry Potter game((The first one))
And I told him not to save his game
But he was such a jackass he didn't listen
And deleted my file.
I swear
I wanted to gut this kid in a dark alley.
And I still do.
