This evil girl by the name of Silvermane told me to at least try to play the first game since it was 20 bucks and I didn't have anything else to play. I go buy it and play for a solid 5 hours. Three days later I own 3 out of the four games. After I finished the first game I realized where the anime series was in the time line. I purchased all 6 volumes of the anime in the same week. I'm still waiting on vol 5 in the mail though, because no where around here likes to carry it.

I've been doing online games like phantasy star online since they first were introduced to consoling, and I've only just recently made my way to the computer fields of gaming. I used to watch cartoon network and saw an advertisement for a new anime that looked pretty cool. Seemed to have magic and stuff, and didn't look childish, so I decided to tune in that one midnight during the weekend. First episode I was "huh? What's this thing!? But the music rocks......
" Next week I was "This story has a mystery shoved in...doesn't it? Where can I buy this soundtrack neways?!
" Third day "
heheheheh...sora....." Fourth day "
"This is pretty cool. I'm already falling in-love with the characters! YEAH!" And thus began my .hack obsession! The liking online games prior to the show and knowing and understanding the in-game e-mail and stuff is what helped me continue to watch it. The games are semi-good. I'm picky with my games, and it takes more than a good show to get me hooked to a game based on it. I still play the games.....though not near as often I should...

i first started off by watching sign, but i didnt nessessarily
watch it when it first came out, when they started showing it
on Saturday i watched it but i didnt really have much interest, well
i did find it interesting but i kinda got confused with the storyline
(i started watching some where in the middle of the series), after
i saw all the episodes thats when i initially started being interested
in it, after that i never really picked up the games, i didnt get
a PS2 until christmas of last year (never really got one til then,
though there were a lot of games i wanted to play) after that i
bought infection and thats pretty much what pulled me in...

Like most people what drew me in to dot hack was sign, it really was the story of sign and the emotional parts of the series, there was a lot of other stuff that made me want to see it some more. In fact I had to go over to my friends house every Saturday night at 12 just so I could see sign because at the time I did not have cable.
What drew me to watch the series at first was the setting. The whole "taking place in an MMORPG known as 'The World" sparked my interest in it. At first when I watched SIGN I wasn't really interested because, lets face it, SIGN is a lot harder to follow in hour long segments seperated by a week's time, than it is in one big marathon of DVDs crammed into one day... But, I still liked the series and I said "what the heck" and put it on my Christmas List. Well, I didn't get it for chirstmas but I got it for my Birthday (less than a month from Christmas) and I ended up getting the complete .hack//SIGN series. So, I set a day aside and I watched all the episodes together and that's when I REALLY got into the whole .hack// scene. Just seeing the brilliance in the series. The symbolism, allusions, foreshadowing, etc.. All of it was so well done and there wasn't a thing I didn't like about it. After that I started really getting into it and bought a .hack game and started looking for other people who liked it and it's just grown since then.
