In the Manga, it only shows the dude's head going back with a bullet-like wound in it.

In the ending theme of .hack//Roots which I am ASSUMING everyone has seen, it looks like Haseo gets shot in the chest, causing a huge hole and bits flying everywhere. I'm assuming that represents Ovan turning his back on Haseo and the Twilight Brigade while they were weak. Yeah, yeah, everyone has their own theories on what it might be.

I do. But giving it to you is against the rules, so tough luck.

Is that so, Kaen? I will relook.

getting back to the orginal point:

I have a feeling that most of whats being said is true about the other game. I think it'd be just like the .hack story line to mention something small like that then blow the story line wide open with what most people over looked.

The other game should be thought about more seriously. The problems more then likly are a dirrect result of the games being thrown together like that and the result is what is happening in the game now. remember when they use the word Splice, they mean combinding directly, kinda like the same way DNA is spliced together, get the code wronge and it all goes to crap.

Oh! I apologize. I was wrong about the whole cannon thing. Slip of the mind. I just relooked at the page...and he does in-fact use his gunblade thing. We really do need an official name for the weapon other than 'gunblade'...ripping off of FF is starting to bug me.

Jon thank you for being the only one who has stayed on topic about this. I have no idea where everyone got from the second game to what's a steam gunner. I'm no Mod but please stay on topic.

The Steam Gunners convo began when we started talking about how this second game was probably more indutrialized/FF-like than The World...so it kinda is on topic if you're going to argue that these new classes probably came from the other game.

Anyway, anyone have anything else to say?

If you ask me, slowly straying off topic is still going off topic. But that's neither here nor there.

I just can't think of how this 'other game' would influence things. I mean, it was just produced by CC corp right? No weird AI programs like Aura and Morganna and whatnot should be in it, unless there's something about the other game that we don't know. Anyway, by splicing the new game onto the old one, nothing really changes. It's just like a software update.

If you think about it, they were really vague about this other game, which either means: 1) it is unimportant [or] 2) it is an important part of the plot.

As for CC Corp making the other game, we don't actually know that. Just 'another game'.

trrruuuueee, however- how many time has something small like that popped into complex story lines, over looked , and then it ends up being something prety important. now obviously it's any bodyes guess about what the underlying problem is. but I think the 2nd game is something that might have an ultimate affect on the plot, but thats just me.

ex) remember how when you first met Mia in Infection, she was able to "see" the braclet or more like she just knew it was there, why was that? becasue the story was forshadowing to what Mia really was underneath, a phase.

All I'm saying is that if you don't explore leads you'll miss something. But it's anyone's game at the moment. this is just my opinion

Yes I understand that the second game isn't like The World, however if the second game had nothing to do with what's happening in GU? Wouldn't it just go on like nothing is wrong? The second game most have something to do with the problems. This may be a dumb theory but maybe AIDA was a program the ran the second game and when it was mixed with the game it turned into AIDA, like it adapted to its enviroment. It sounds wierd yes, but that's dot hack for you.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to badger anyone, but "I am ASSUMING" sounded pretty strong, like I was a bad person for not having seen it. They made it sound like the video was available on this site, and I was just too stupid to notice it. I'm sorry I asked about it.

Heh, sorry. I thought the ending theme was hosted on the forum to download somwhere. I think I remember seeing it in the .hack//Roots and online jack section of the forum. I could be wrong, of course.

The problems -could- just as well be totally unrelated to the second game, given that it's been YEARS before the trouble even surfaced.

You can see the ending theme on youtube. I'm pretty sure that the rules only disallow the entire episode to be posted(Fansub and Raw). The Opening has been posted on the main site, so I'm guessing that the ending would be too.

As for the other game, I imagine combining the remainder of The World and the other game would cause some conflicts. It could have also damaged Morganna or Aura, which would deffinatly screw some things up.
