I suppose they didn't want to do the exact same style of music for roots. Ya know, something different.

I agree that everything in //Roots has pleased me so far. I especially like that its not off to a really slow start like //SIGN had.

I agree, //roots has had a more pleasing start compaired to that of //sign. Oh, does anyone know if the music director from //sign is the same one for //roots?

I wasn't expecting it to be the exact same style. So I will probably get used to it and get over whatever is bugging me about it.

I concur. The series is off to a great start in my opinion and the characters are interesting, but did you also notice that Haseo acts like how most players might act when they first play an online game. I kind of like that approach and I hope to see haseo's development into the pkk we all know soon enough.
I'm watching episode 2 right now on youtube and the only thing I wish for is....english subtitles

I'm not into the opening and ending themes whatsoever -- just two more typical, anime pop songs. However, the actual score, so far, is excellent.

Hmm? I do love the lyrics to Catalyst though, they seem to be central to understanding Haseo's chracter, of course I'm always the guy that jumps to the "song" connection.

It starts eight months before the start of the game.
