Silver Knight merely passed out with short term memory loss, and both the Cat (Maha) and the Girl (Aura) were AI's.

Not that any distinction was ever made early on between PCs and AI.

It wasn't really a mystery to me. They tell you that Tsukasa can't log out in the first episode, then at the end they show some girl fainted. From playing MMORPG's, I would say a girl would make a character like Tsukasa and not a character like Ginkan.
