the game has been out for a while so of corse its going to be hard to find
but i always see them in gamestop

They are re-releasing the 4 games in Japan in two packages for 2,800 yen that's 14 odd quid each! or to put it another way about usd$24.
Maybe they'll do that here too. (Though they'll probably charge full price
)

Personally, I found Mutation harder to find. I have yet to actually see the game in stores around me [but maybe I haven't been looking hard enough]. Had to buy Infection used, but wouldn't it make more sense for the older games to be harder to come across?

well infection i found it used mutation my friend bought the last copy and sold it to me 3 months later,outbreak i could'n found it to buy and found it in a video rental place and after countless hours talking to the manager he sold it to me and quarantine is nowhere to be found

WooT! I finally gound .hack//outbreak after searching for a year yesterday...my matre tried to fight me for it ! LOL!

I was able to find Infection and Outbreak without a problem here in Florida, but I had to spend nearly 2 months to get Mutation and Quarantine.
At least I was able to rent the others from work while I was looking for them.

None of the UK stores near me have any of them - I could swear some regions in the UK didn't even get Outbreak!
I'd say that both Mutation and Outbreak are as rare as each other, and yet Outbreak costs near enough double what Mutation does on eBay... The only reason I can find is that Outbreak is probably the best out of the first three.

that sucks, well like i said before, the stores around me have no one buying any .hack games except for me and like 4 other people XD so yeah plenty of copies here.

lol you can get any of the games in the U.S. for under 20$.
