....
sorry... I'm not buying any of those gadget. More because I have no money and those things still a little bit too high-end for most of people in my country.
But anyway, I interpreting this.. dothack concept, as the ones they used in prototype (what is it? something with great phantom thief and moon crow?) so I don't really expect it to be like .hack we all know and loved.
So I'm excited about how the story will turned out

5oreigners can download the game using a proxy. Also mobile games arent that bad. Even though Final fantasy type 0 started out as a mobile game people loved it and the game kept most of its original content. Granted cc2 isnt square enix.

Am i the only one who is NOT happy about seeing that? D:
I mean, i expected this game to be reminsicent of .Hack, to hold several features that we've seen from past .Hack media, to see new ideas that they could've worked into The World but are now applied to a very different world and a very different setting. Similar, but different enough things.
I did NOT expect, nor want to see the 174th iteration of Kite D8
But i guess that was actually obvious to expect...CC2 SERIOUSLY has a hard-on for that orange suit and that teal-ish hair D:
So i suppose now we're left to wonder what kind of role that character is going to play, what will be the secret behind those bracelets on his wrists, and if this will be actually connected to Za Warudo in some way D:
And Mighty Monarch? I still prefer this kind of Monarch better >3>

You've never seen Venture Bros.? Kite's costume is starting to resemble the cunning and lethal monarch butterfly.

Apparently, nope, i've never watched that. But now i'll begin to picture Kite as a giant monarch butterfly D: lol
AND CAIUS IS STILL BETTER ANYWAYS.

@Kaori,
you're right, that's the easiest logic XD
@Kuukai & TheSorrow
What? What did everyone see about Kite??
It won't load in my computer XD
But, is that about Kite's redesign with large scarf, high collar, and modified robe??
EDIT:
nevermind, my connection lagging that time.
Hey! I love this design! So epic~ ♥
now, all we need is redesign of Orca, Balmung, and BlackRose. :3

Hey, listen! We got Mistral:

Her name is Navina (Navi????) and she's addressing her master (the main character?) before leaving the Bizarrea Plains and entering a giant cave system where a treasure of the dragon is said to sleep.
At the top of the screen there's the player name next to what might be an online guild? The guild in the screenshot is Moon Tree - Hakata (where CC2 headquarters is) Branch.
Also, the in-game render of Kite looks pretty good:
According to the background information, there are three major cultures locked in a cold war that have mastered the heavy blade, twin blade, and wave respectively:

So...I might REALLY get to play a .Hack game after all. Just with somewhat different names in a somewhat different setting, but it's like if Tokio or someone were to be having a very crazy dream D: lol
And speaking about Tokio, that first screenshot seems to be having LINK-like graphics. That's very nice :3
And also, your 3rd screenshot-thingy doesn't work :c

So... Is it safe to assume that Guilty Dragon is .hack Alternate Universe?

(I find hard time explaining this to my friend)

A game "loosely inspired" by .hack? Like Xenosaga vs. Xenogears, or BlazBlue vs. Guilty Gear...
Or like .hack and parts of Tail Concerto, FFXI, the Naruto manga, Ghost in the Shell, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Lovecraft, Tenshi no Tamago, Alice in Wonderland, the second law of thermodynamics, Roman mythology, Greek mythology, Chinese mythology, Japanese mythology, Norse mythology, Celtic mythology, Lakota mythology, The Ring, Dante's Inferno, and Eek The Cat (ok, I can't prove that last one).

Loosely inspired from Felix the Cat and Rockos Modern Life.

The second one is even harder to explain ^^

How so? CC2 had a guild called Treasure Hacker, the original title of .hack. They considered playing the game to be "research" for the game. If you mean timewise, remember it was in beta from 2001. I'm not making these up (well, except for Eek the Cat, that's a joke). Ask me about the second law of thermodynamics.

Kuukai wrote:Ask me about the second law of thermodynamics.
I ask you about the second law of thermodynamics o-O;
And about Naruto manga, though i suppose that relates to Japanese mythology in general, and it's more like both Naruto and this thingy are "loosely inspired" by Japanese mythology, rather than this being inspired by Naruto. Unless you meant something else D: (Other than the fact Kite was inspired by Naruto)

Kite was inspired by Naruto, isn't that enough? O.o There are things directly from Japanese mythology too. Ok, second law of thermodynamics:
Maxwell's demon
A demon called Maxwell with a shield he lifts up and down:
A demon sword called Maxwell:
When Haseo got it it turned into a sword called Szilard:
Szilard's engine
Every action Kite and BlackRose perform results in a rapidly degenerating world until it finally "dies" (and is reborn--luckily enough). AIDA were born from the entropy left behind when Aura left The World, and repeatedly act as agents of digital and emotional disorder.
Sadamoto said BlackRose is Nadia plus Haruko from FLCL. Aura is basically just stolen from that Mamoru Oshii movie. The Epitaph mentions a Native American god that cries when he's happy and laughs when he's sad. Culhwch means "pig run." And so on.

This is all very interesting information, but something about this concept doesn't feel very right. I guess I am slightly disappointed that the creators do not feel confident enough to come up with a completely unique story that isn't inspired too much from their previous works. Part of the main reason why I became so hooked on the .Hack universe was because of its originality. (Sure, .Hack was inspired by other works but it was a mash-up of different things)
I believe that if CC2 worked on a totally different story, they would be able to attract a newer audience while keeping their fans interested enough to follow them in the direction they decide to do.
All of this Guilty Dragon similarity to .Hack is somewhat discouraging... : /
But, I am still excited about their new project even if it is so far just a mobile game. : )

Since the mobile game setting would be out this summer, is it going to be sometime between late summer and early autumn? The date is not specified when it will be.
