AZZZER was displayed above his head. But his form was odd. He had Bark Paudrons, a wooden sword at its side, A bright white bow in its hands, and long pointy ears. The First Elf to Return. A character completed the event.

"I've decided i'm doing this...Quest. But there's a problem. You have to have a group of three. and only one person can become the elf. I won't ask you to help me. We'll have to do your tutorial another time if that's allright?"

"Even if you take the test alone it doesn't guarantee that you'll become an Elf. That's why they still go in groups. Give me your member address and i'll Message you when i'm done if you want."

Bio: Merlot played R:2 and was a founding member of Will of D back then and remains one in R:3. People on the forums often compared Will of D to Kestrel.

Merlot has little desire to become an elf, but it's interesting, and he wants to see what happens to The World once the elves return. He rarely forms a party himself, which has given him a reputation as a loner, but he rarely refuses a party request, especially if it's from a fellow guild member. His lone wolf style of play means he's usually in fields that are of levels lower than his own.

Merlot had just logged in, first stop had been checking in with WhiteBeard at guild H.Q., as usual there was nothing that needed his attention, so he went back to Mac Anu. He was almost disappointed none of the other members had asked him along for the elf quest, but whatever that was their choice. As he walked along the bridge a thought occurred to him, had it gotten longer since R:2? If so, that was good, it always seemed to get crowded back then.

Merlot stopped beside some other players, personal space was a luxury here even in those era, and if they wanted privacy they could go to a field. Whenever he saw a boat passing underneath he always got the urge to jump, sadly that wasn't an option so he smiled ruefully instead. He'd go to the quest shop after a few more boats passed by and see if there were any solo quests available today.

Zorlo sat quietly in the zone. He'd been there for about two hours and had already racked up a number of kills on newbies who had wandered into the territory he had carved out. "I continue to hope they'll stop showing up to waste my time, but time and again, they arrive. At that point, they have no choice... this is my new home, and they won't trespass if they can't defeat me," Zorlo said as he shifted and struck down a monster that materialized behind him. "Just like these monsters, the weak have no place in this world. Kill or be killed... that's the rule," the man said as he motioned as if adjusting a pair of glasses.

"My my.... Isn't he antisocial...?" Namine said to herself as she watched Zorlo kill everything around him, including several players, from a tree-shaded rock on a nearby hill. Though she hadn't been watching long, maybe thirty minutes, she could tell the Zorlo felt...old-school. Or maybe she was over thinking things. either way, she thought he might have some uses if she could curb some of that rabidness out of him. "After all... no one likes a Rabid Dog..." she said to herself with a quiet laughter as she stood and casually walked toward him as if she hadn't seen him killing off anything that moved near him. "Hey! You look like you're having fun. But you look a bit strong for this area. Wanna go somewhere stronger?" she asked him with an almost...mischievous...smile on her face. Oh how many PK's had come up to her like that in the old days...? She'd lost count. "I also have a quest that might interest you if you care to join me."

Akira returned from the items shop and saw the 'elf' that suddendly appeared and killed the goblin heh, so cool.... man, im totally gonna take that quest and finish it, that's it i said it... or thinked it? ah, whatever he tough, and walked to the bridge, and then sitted in the railing, watching the ocean as he changes his equipment and sets his main weapon I just need two people that would be willing to do it.... altough only one can become elf....but even if i don't it would be fun! hahah..

"Oh well, it's not like it matters. At this rate i'll never get enough people anyways...I suppose it's a fools quest."

As he explained the messaging system, his eyes slowly wandered to the Elf. How could such power even exist? A LeVeL one beating a Seventy-Six. its impossible

He sighed, and slowly walked across the bridge, searching for two people that could help him, everyone was busy "*sigh* i guess i'll never find them.... well, i have nothing else to do so i guess i have all day long..." as soon as he said this he stumbled in middle of a girl and a guy "oh, s-sorry if i interrupted your conversation" He saw the names 'Draz' and 'Data Lore' "hey...." i haven't asked them... "sorry but, is there any chance you two are free for like... half an hour... it's that i'm searching for two people, and everyone is busy...."

"Depends. There's no way i'm going to walk straight into a trap or Pk Zone."

Draz leaned back against the bridge. Nobody wanted to go on a quest with a LVL one.

"well, i was going to do, y'know, that quest" He said calmly "so, what do you say?, oh yeah take this" Akira gave his member adress to Draz

Merlot decided to but in on Draz's conversation, it wasn't his business but whatever. "If you're worried about it, I can guarantee you that he is not a member of Will of D. That's not to say that he isn't a player killer, but I just thought I'd let you know." Her had seen enough boats pass by, so having said that Merlot headed for the quest shop. There wasn't a whole lot of support for solos, but they had surprised him before and if nothing else he would just sit on some boxes by the guild stores and see who was out and about today.

Sion: { he finds himself walking around mac anu with no set destination he finds himself near merlot}....dammit I got that email and I don't even know where the hell to start looking! Tch....dammit {he receives a flash mail} Sion: dammit what?!...they feel the need to test me!...tch { he walks off as he stops by the quest shop near merlot}

Starting parties wasn't really his thing, but he did enjoy meddling, and if something was going on Will of D needed a presence, so Merlot opened a conversation with Sion. "What are you looking for?"

Zorlo looked at the woman. A cold chill ran up his spine. "Th-this is... my... zone..." he said as he flashed back to that day. That creature... and then... blank. He'd woken up nearly six months later. No one could explain what had happened, but he clearly recalled that the event started something like this. He had chosen the wrong person to try to PK and had been left a drooling vegetable. "St-stay back!" he said as he stood up nervously. "A-are you like... like him?" he asked, recalling the form of the man that now haunted him. "Are you him?!" he asked, clenching his sword tightly.

Why... why did he feel like this. "D-did you come here to torment me? To mock me?! So what if I couldn't defeat him?! No one could!" Zorlo said as he stumbled back and fell. "Wh-who are you?! What do you want with me?!"

Sion: { he looks over towards merlot}....yeah answers.....{ he reads the name} * Merlot?.....I know that name from somewhere*...it just so happens that I need to get myself involved in this whole elf mess....if you ask me this whole elf quest is alittle too hyped...any thoughts on this { he leans against the wall} * I know I've seen this name before*

"It's interesting, but it really does seem over-hyped. Of course, I'm one of those guys who would rather play a bounty hunter or a trooper with a big gun in a Star Wars campaign over a jedi. So I might be at odds with the masses on the whole elf bit, but with some luck CCcorp. will have something more interesting planned down the line. I just hope they don't make elves required in future quests. It's bad enough for those of us who don't form parties that much already. So, what are the questions that you're looking for answers to?"
