What's The best browser for Windows and why?

I use Firefox. Also its not much different but I'm trying a browser named Sleipnir.

I think I might start during this. Delete the programs from the start menu, or make Firefox and IE a pain in the ass to use like blocking all cookies, use noscript, no java, and no adobe flash.

First off, get rid of any icons and start menu items that have to do with IE. That way the only reason it would ever open is with Windows Update. Second, get Safari for your family to use.

Otherwise, there's always getting a 64GB flash drive, putting windows on it, and having your system start from that when its plugged in. Its basically the same as having a SSD, but since you can remove it your family can't get it infected! The only real problem is the small amount of storage space, you'd have to limit the installed games you have to maybe 1 or 2, and never download porn.

Thanks for the tips. Well my cpu is basically set up for gaming, and speed. I have 454gb total on the system local disk, and I have 439 gb to spare. I only run the things that I are necessary. I also have an extra 15gb local disk, but its far to small for an operating system to run on. By the way what is great about Safari? I never really used it.

Well, Safari is a browser of MAC O.S. from Apple.
Looks like is more efficient than Internet Explorer.

I'm not sure how many people are aware of this, but most of the widely used browsers have add-on/extension functions now. Flashblock, PDF/Power Point Viewer, Download Master/Accelerator, FastestChrome, Google Translate (there's already a translate feature built in, but when it doesn't activate, this is backup), Google Voice, MegaUpload DL Helper, TV Chrome, Wikipedia Companion (which is a pretty neat, light weight way of accessing Wikipedia without opening a new tab), and all sorts of things that give me various options of changing dynamics of web pages are ones that I currently use with my Chrome. And I love the theme that I'm using for it, which should have been the default theme, because it actually make it look like "chrome". I've used all three though, but I prefer Chrome over Firefox simply because it was the first alternative browser (rather than IE) that I chose to use and I like the sleek interface.

I'm kind of surprised to hear about it crashing so much in Kuukais case. I typically have anywhere from 3 to 15 tabs up at any given moment with other tasks running behind the browser such as my Spider music player, PDF viewing, various D&D programs, and emulators without issue. Plus, it incorporates some other functions of Firefox in it, like F11 fullscreen (the only thing I can think of right now...). I think IE even has that now, as well as add-ons.

Spybot is the shizz. I haven't had any problems with my netbook due to simply safe browsing and Spybot.

Actually its been causing me some trouble with its latest update. When I start my computer the My Documents window is open. Then Spybot asks me for permissions for a few programs to do some crap that isn't really gonna hurt anything since it happened automatically before the update. Its not really doing anything other than making me take a little more time to get online.

I tried out Safari on PC. It ok, but I rather stick with Firefox 4.

Well Firefox 4 beta 12 (the last I think) is out, and it is epic. There is so many ways to customize Firefox, and it is very safe. Firefox is full of win.

Some browsers actually load pages faster than others. Firefox can take a while to load some pages on occasion, but on the same page Chrome will have it up right away.

Well, I'll just sum it up really quick.

Google Chrome: If you really just use the net for news, youtube, forums, SNS (like facebook), and webcomics.

Mozilla Firefox: If you like porn or online manga, because while firefox is slow, its safe. But you will need the Adblock Plus add on though to keep it really safe. And with GreaseMonkey you can tune it up to load pages just as fast as Chrome.

Internet Explorer: If you like viruses, malware, spyware and wiping your Hard Drive every 3 weeks.

Actually... I can right click anything right now, using Chrome, and view various elements of the page (the option is "Inspect elements"), as well as edit them. I could also click on the drop options placed in the top right, select "Tools", and choose Encoding, View Source, Developer Tools, or JavaScript Console for development.
I've come to find that a lot of browsers recently have a fair kit of dev tools, so don't count out what you haven't extensively tested. I just downloaded Opera and found that it has a variety of tools and customization options similar to already mentioned browsers.

As already stated, Chrome also typically loads pages faster, but that's no reason to stop using what you favor.

Nine years of wasted experience I'd say. I've been dealing with browsers and web editing just a few years longer than him. I started on macintosh OS8 and (if you can believe it) netscape, now I'm on Windows XP after trying out W7Ultimate and seeing how hard it fails.

Web development shouldn't be done on a browser in the first place, the coding takes too long and it's not always accurate on the first try. You get conflicting code that disrupts object placement and you have to go back and tweak it.

Besides that, Firefox has Greasemonkey as I mentioned earlier. It can edit pages that already exist, or you can open a new tab and make a page from scratch before you put it up on the net. It even lets you save your progress as separate sections if you want. You can use multiple scripts on the same page, or have them work for multiple pages, or even have them work on every page.

Firefox also has the largest database of user created add-ons, making it the most developed for open source browser. You can even edit the browser itself any way you like!

If someone thinks a closed source, low security, P.O.S. like IE is anything other than garbage they should have their computer taken away from them!

Oh, and a quick way to check if your teacher is a moron when it comes to computers is to just ask him "What kind of computer do you have?" If he answers with anything other than "I built it myself", "Linux", "A Mac", or the name of his processor, he doesn't have enough experience with computers to teach a thing about them.

And ya know what, if he fails that, ask him if he uses Norton. If he says yes he might as well just quit his job and throw him computer off a bridge.
