"I wouldn't allow it, this is a stealth op. In and out, minimal witnesses. Anything nonessential, reflective, or is anything but a shade of black would be left at home." Claire pointed at Church. "But he's your CO, not me. You've got a request you bring it to him." She started to unfold a map of their destination, but stopped to clarify her earlier actions. "You wanted on earlier and Church is usually pretty lax. But he set the requirement that you be in uniform to get aboard. That's why I got your clothes for you. And we're on a tight schedule which is why I made you hurry."

Name: Jackson Gunn Smith
Nickname: Jack
age: 24
Troop name: The Jackson Three (although for this mission it is the flying marmets, obviously).
Commander: Church (for this mission)
Rank: Brigadier General
App: Image
Bio: Church and Jackson go back years. On Church's first mission with the military, Jackson was in charge of operations as Major. Jackson obviously refused to have such a young member on his squad, but somehow Church managed to tag along. In the end, only Jackson and Church returned from their squad of sixteen members. They stayed in the same troop for the next year and survived many close encounters where others had not. But as time went on, and Jackson's rank increased, he was pulled away from field missions. After two years Jackson received a call from Church requesting his assistance for a dangerous mission. There was one thing Church had said that got Jackson to accept. "This time... we won't both return alive."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jackson laughed and put out his cigarette. "Well, we all have things we're going to have to accept on this mission." He gave Leo's head a pat.

"For me it's gonna be taking orders from someone over six ranks below me." Jackson gave a loud bellowing laugh and snatched Church's hand. "Long time no see kid! I can't believe they still haven't officially ranked you up." Jackson's eye caught the woman. "Hey, aren't you..." His voice trailed off as he searched for a memory involving Claire's face. "I'm sure I know you from somewhere. It's on the tip of my tongue."

"I'm sure you do, General. We say any more and we may have to kill everyone else on this plane or raise their pay grade. It's really your decision on that one." That said Claire quickly escaped up to the cockpit. And sat herself down in the copilot's chair, put his headset back on, and used asking the pilot what their ETA was as an excuse.

She couldn't risk Jack IDing her. She had spent almost an entire year in the same class as Jack, that felt like lifetimes ago. They had been good friends too. But if he recognized her...she wasn't sure what to do. She was a different person back then, far less serious and definitely much less caring about the rules and regs. Not that the usual regulations applied to her.

Leo sighed as he looks over the window searching for their destiny, as he looks at the far distance he see a cargo plane, he get's closer to where claire is ummm hey miss claire, there's a cargo plane approaching in the right diagonal side miss, i dunno if it's gonna be good or not but now that this is a stealth operation we need to get uncover, mind if i ask you to move the plane higher? he said firmly as he looked again to the window

She didn't hear Leo, but she saw his reflection in the window. She took a look at the cargo plane and the expression on his face before she removed the headset and put a hand on his shoulder. "Relax Pvt., we have a competent pilot." She gestured to the as of yet, unnamed pilot next to her. "He won't let us get offed by an unarmed cargo plane. Why don't you go check the chutes or have Church brief you on exactly what the operation is?" She put the headset back on and looked down at the instruments.

Jack was baffled by the girl. The whole situation made him think of how sometimes you know a person that looks similar to a celebrity. "You know they can't be the same person, but the resemblance is uncanny. Hmm."

He turned back to Church, "Yeah, no kidding. I suppose your medals speak for your actual rank. Speaking of rank, and I understand your situation, but why bring the other private? I've heard nothing about a code name 'Liar' in any of my reports. Never mind, I'll trust your judgement." Jackson laughed again. "I'll be gearing up, let me know when it's time to drop."

The pilot took them down hard and fast. Anything not nailed down rose off the floor about an inch. Claire huriedly jumped down out of the cockpit, grabbing onto the netting inside the body of the plane to steady herself as the pilot leveled them out. The jarring of the sudden deceleration knocked her visor slightly askew. She pulled it out slightly to adjust and then retightened the strap. Claire had packed her shoot this morning, but made one final check before pulling it on. She turned away when she saw Jack pulling his on next to her. This was a distraction she didn't need.

((OOC: o.O What. The. Ass?))

"I guess that's the signal to drop," he smiled at Claire. "Last one down's a rotten egg?" The hanger opened and the general jumped out backwards. Outside the plane it was night. Jackson held up his altimeter and pressed for audible reading.

A monotone, digital voice rang in Jack's ear saying, "Current altitude: one hundred feet and declining."

"WHAT?!" His voice was inaudible. Without further hesitation Jackson clenched the release string and wrenched forward. Unfortunately, unlike Claire, Jackson had not checked his parachute pre-drop.

How the hell can I be overseeing three thousand troops and not remember to check my OWN equipment?! Without wasting more time thinking Jack ripped out his combat knife sliced the parachute bag open. The large nylon tarp expanded and Jack's body jerked up with the drag. He pressed the altimeter again.

"Ten feet and-"

Oh no.

Jackson's ears were flooded with the sound of impact. I'm dead. I must be. My chute came out too late. His limbs became weightless and their heat seemed to drift away. There was a sinking feeling, as though he were...

Hang on. Jackson reached down for a flash light and flicked it on. Sure enough he had miraculously landed in a body of water. Jack rolled his eyes and let a breath of bubbles escape that may otherwise have been a sigh. With little effort the parachute bag was removed and jack made careful movements to avoid becoming tangled in the chute and its strings as he swam to the water's surface. He took in a deep breath. "Man, after all this I really hope that this was the right drop location." Jack begun making his way for the near by land he could make out.

((Hooray for random awesomeness.))
Claire waited until everyone else had jumped before going herself. If her visor was working right, she had landed about 30 yards away from the others. After a quick scan of the area, she rolled up her shoot and trotted over to the others. "Jack, it looked like you had some trouble with your shoot. You jake?" She immediately regretted her choice of words. Most people said okay or alright, but she had always said jake instead. It was bad enough he thought she looked familiar, she didn't want him to start making any other connections.

Jack pulled him self from the water and rested for a moment, breathing heavily. He found that swimming in full gear was no simple task.

"I look forward to finding out," Jackson said and stood up as Church landed near-by. Mockery seemed to surround Jack right now.

"Yeah, well it's not the first time we've survived on pure luck." He sighed. Of course now I'll need to dry out my gun. At least the ammunition was in a water resistant pocket.

"Yeah I'm..." Jackson paused and stared at Claire in the moon's dim light for a moment. "Oh! I just remembered-" He quickly shut up, however, as he realised they were supposed to be on a stealth operation. "Er, sorry." He turned to Church, "Where to now?" But it was clear that the thought in which had recollection its way into Jackson's mind, was not about to leave.
