I saw an amazing MAD once that pointed out how much they have in common with the Azure Knights...

Old anime, eh? I'll just assume it's animes I saw when I was younger. Wow...I'm going back quite awhile...
Toonami:
Sailor Moon
Gundam Wing
G Gundam
SD Gundam
Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball Z
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (I suppose it counts since Toonami showed it...)
Thunder Cats
ZOIDS (Chaotic Century, Guardian Force, Century Zero, and some of Fuzors.)
Adult Swim (I didn't stay up late back then...):
Cowboy Be-Bop (I remember the episode with the clown and Spike, but I didn't see too many episodes.)
Inuyasha
Ghost in the Shell
.hack//SIGN (It was moved to Adult Swim from Toonami for some reason.)
Others:
Transformers Armada
Transformers Energon
Serial Experiments LAIN
Pokemon
Digimon (First, Second, Third, and some of the fourth season.)

Let's see what I can remember;
- Dragonball Z
- Dragonball GT
- Dragonball - I agree with Gemcrim here. This was the series' high-point
- Sailor Moon
- Flint the Time Detective (HOOMBA HOOMBA HOOMBA!)
- Outlaw Star
- Cowboy Bebop
- Gundam Wing -The first anime I ever saw. It's one of the main reasons why I like mecha so much, the other being Z.O.E.
- Princess Mononoke
- My Neighbour Totoro
- Nausica Valley of the winds
- Evangelion
- Akira
- Ranma 1/2
- Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - GO AND WATCH THIS NOW. Also, if you can find the manga, read that as well. It's well worth it
EDIT:
- Monster Rancher (If it counts) - Funnily enough, I saw this before pokemon. I've only remembered it because of that bouncing yellow eyeball-thing called Suazo.
