Agreed. It's sort of like how people don't vacation in their back yard, y'know? At least... I'm sure they'd prefer to go elsewhere. Just to escape the norm I think. Like why we watch movies or read books.

Englishmen don't have accents. That's just what the language is supposed to sound like when you speak it correctly.

"Cut it out with that stupid accent. Speak AMERICAN."

If you really wanna get into it, English people should have a French accent since the English Language came from the French and then the French should sound Latin etc. We don't know the history of languages well enough to say who's accent came first.

Yeah, I have a whole speech about why Americans are.... Not the best? But I suppose that's not very unique since it really isn't so hard to come up with such a speech.

..

Technically EVERYONE IN THE WORD has a different accent, whether the pronounciation is correct or not is irrelevant

In the USA different regions speak with different accents and even have their own idiom.

That is also true for England, so yes, englishmen have ENGLISH ACCENTS

I believe that - being an Englishman myself - I have a pretty large right to comment on this discussion -_-'...

Firstly - While England may be where English came from, it's not like we all have well-educated private school accents. Go to South London, and you'll understand.

Secondly - England even has different DIALECTS within it. People from York say things I understand less than French, people from Gloucester are slightly better, but still pretty hard to comprehend, and people from Birmingham don't even call their city Birmingham; They call it something along the lines of 'Brumidgin' (Broo-midge-inn). Simply put, England is a clusterf*ck of accents and dialects within itself.

Finally - You're more likely to hear someone talking 'Pikey-speak' in England than you are to hear them talking 'Upper-Class-Prim-and-Proper-speak'. That is, unless you're talking to someone over the age of 50;

(protip; read the 'hw's and 'h's as if they were hard outward breaths)

"'hw'one must always do 'hw'one's best 'h'when competing in a nat-sion-al tournament. If 'hw'one fails to do s'a'o (protip; say the 'a' as if it were slurred into the 'o'), 'hw'one wouldst be letting down the 'h'reputation of hour dear queen and country!"

You forget that I as well as you had been taking quite a few absences on this site lately, so how was I suppose to know? lol

Anyway, Hugh Juckman is Australian I believe, so I pretty much like them as actors and T.V. stars, like the late, great, Steve Irwin. *Crikey Mates. Heaven sure is a vast and adventurous place here.*

I wouldn't mind a vacation there, but the time zone change, and the season change would be annoying to me.

As in how it'd be different than where you live??? I think it's just like anywhere else in the world. Some places are hot all year round like in tropical places, some places are cold all year round such as those near the coast, and then there'd be places that change alot throughout the year.

The word you were looking for was "elaborate", then.

Regarding the topic, I like Australians. In fact, we have a neighbor who is Australian; one of the nicest guys I've ever met. It's also fun to hear the Australian interjections slip out every once in a while, like I'm sitting there, and I hear "Aww, buggah!". Very funny.

Hmmm..... The government 'blows' because they're not letting people view child porn sites, sites that sell illegal drugs and weapons etc? That's all I got from that article. -__-"

You're an idiot. Let me copypaste stuff from the article you might of missed.
Critics claim the policy will not result in any meaningful dent in the availability of harmful internet content, will create significant freedom-of-speech issues and will be prone to abuse by politicians.

''The scope of filtered content is so broad that it could block content that would inform political and social debate,'' Google spokeswoman Lucinda Barlow said.
Former opposition leader Malcolm Turnbull has also condemned the proposed filtering scheme as a ''white elephant''. ''This system will not be effective,'' Mr Turnbull said. ''This policy will run the risk of false impressions [of security], when there should be parental responsibility.''

The executive director of digital freedom group Access, Brett Solomon, said the Prime Minister should step in to ditch the scheme. ''The government would be better off developing policies to ensure the privacy of Australians is better safeguarded rather than pursuing the filter. This should be a promise that Kevin Rudd should break.''
''Consistently the Australian people are saying that they don't want it,'' Mr Sheikh said.
Now stop being an ignorant twit. This isn't about people wanting their childporn.
