I don't know about you guys, but I attually really like the stlye. It's something different and orginal. Sure, they look kinda like zombies (esspicaly haseo) but their trying something new.

I don't mind that they're trying a new style, and i don't mind either that it's something different and original.
I do mind that those eyes are TERRIBLE x-x

The overall style reminds me to something like Ghost in the Shell, and given how .Hack is an unique series on it's own already, it fits quite good for this last game. But unless your views on art are VERY unique and "peculiar" (to not say freaking bizarre), those eyes and the face expression overall are terrible and no matter how good the overall style is, or how awesome it is that they're trying something new and different, nothing will make that face look any decent.

Well, I complained about how cartoonish the character models looked awhile ago, to the point where I thought Alkaid was a chicken, but after being exposed to it for some time, I learned to get over it. I just didn't want CC2 to leave the awesome art style of G.U. This style however, I like for some reason, mainly because it fits Tokio quite well. XD

I also like it for the postmodern cyberpunk-ness. It's the only thing I've seen so far that makes a real person running around the internet look good. Your mileage may vary, however...

Yeah, the eyes are pretty scary xD. But, to me the eyes are sorta different on the different charatcers, maybe there's so more "Typical" anime eyes in the style. We'll just have to wait and see! ^^

It was at the end of the opening. Mimiru dropped from the side and but her attire was different from her current design. She had multiple layers of armor and her skin was covered. There were also differences from her blade and head piece (NANI!?) as well. Though guess it could be an egg related to the story, gameplay or art style. Not that it affects much.(Notes hat in Link Play) I think this means you can equip visual armor in the game.

Yeah, I'm not 100% certain that's Mimiru, but if it is it still makes sense since like |<!73 said you can actually customize your appearance now with items that include bunny ears.

she's almost reverting back to her first avatar shown in .hack// sign.
Custimizing avatars is cool though, maybe shes going back to the girly girl bottled up inside her xDD

I just checked a .hack// Wiki site (source) and I don't think the rabit girl is Mimiru. Also, if you look at the frame of the trailer at 1:17, you see here.

The tan skin, brown hair, and fully identical wave symbols pretty much indentify her as Mimiru...Only..."Customized."

OK, I'll be open to that possibility. But it might also be possible that (like with Blackrose), another player created a Heavy Blade that shares a striking resemblance to Mimiru.

While we are on the subject of similarities, you forgot the blue eyes,

It looks green-blue to me. Either case the character has a similar braid to Mimiru. There is one other PC from the manga it could be however I don't see as strong a facial reference. (Sidenote-I'll laugh if it turns out to be Rena).

your my hero Kuukai, anyway Shoujirou Nishimi is a great animator, in fact i look forword to seeing such things because there not the same mainstream designs that we see over and over again in a lot of anime
