"I wish I had a smoke...." Letting out a long sigh, Lucius leans backwards and looks down at his cheap suit. "Heh, but without a lawyer I'm safe as hell..." He closes his eyes and starts count. I didn't do it...I was at the park...with....er...no one.... He sighs again then wipes his face giving off a smirk, "I-I think I got this....with or without a suit"

Tyrus sat impatiently in the seat of the Prosecution. Samuel was not far from him. A notebook was resting on his desk, open at a blank page. He was using a photo of him and his school friend as a bookmark. In his hands was a novel entitled,"the Undercover Economist." Occasionally, a smirk, followed by a small chuckle came from where Tyrus was sitting, obviously showing that he was enjoying the book. However his enjoyment was to be short-lived, seeing as he had already gone through one quarter of the book in the space of ten minutes. Samuel was looking rather worried about Tyrus, hoping that the boredom wouldn't go to his head and cause him to give up on the case.

(OOC: Is this ok twilight for an entry post? or do I need to edit. If I do please tell me and I will make any changes needed.)
Zeresh stood at the entrance of the courthouse. In his hand was the case file on the case at hand. He was told by the chief prosecutor to assist one Tyrus Britesaber. Zeresh sighed; he wasn't in the habit of helping new prosecutors but he would do so when strange times called for even stranger measures. With a deep breath Zeresh entered the courthouse putting on his fake persona of the kind prosecutor. Zeresh smiled and waved to those who tried to get his attention. He just politely nudged them off and made his way to the judges's chambers.
Upon entering Zeresh noticed the defendant Lucius Daniels smoking his cigarette and being calm. At the boy's remark about not having a lawyer Zeresh made a comment of his own. He smirked; " Don't be so sure your safe Mr. Daniels. Fate has a strange way of changing out plans." After this Zeresh turned from facing Lucius and made his way over to the prosecution's side of the courtroom.
Zeresh opened the wooden door and walked into the prosecution's box. Upon seeing the boy there Zeresh could only assume this was the one he had to help. "I believe proper introductions are in order. I am Zeresh Seidelman; I have been sent by the prosecutor's office to act as your legal counsel. Should you need help or have questions during the trial I will assist you to the best of my abilities." Zeresh then extended his hand towards the boy for a handshake.

The courtroom begins to bustle with activity of the onlookers as the the defendant prepares himself. The judge, who looks at the young man with a stern, yet confused look on his face, lifts his gavel, but fails to bring it down.
Judge: "Young man, our defense system seems to have failed you, I can't imagine why even the public defense office will not take this case.
However, because you have no defense, I will permit one more day of suspension before continuing this case. Unless, you wish to defend yourself.
I doubt that is the case, but if you so choose, you forfeit your right to an attorney.
Do you wish to do so?
Or will we continue to delay this case by one more day?

Tyrus looked up from his book, wanting to say something on the amtter, but realizing the possible consequences of his action. He found that speaking out of turn was an act that could easily lose him the most simple of cases, so he had learned to make himself heard through other, less distruptive methods. He coughed softly in agreement with the Judge's offer.
Samuel leaned in his direction again, handing him a notebook filled with tips on cross examination,"you know.. it's never too late to opt for the role of defense attorney. I'm sure that you could do it with little difficult-.." he was cut short by Tyrus, who lifted up his hand, as if block Samuel's words out,"Sam, I never go back on what my beliefs about true justice are. Once I decide a role, I will stick with it until the case is sealed. Such is the will of the true fighter.." Samuel backed off, feeling slightly nervous. He'd never quite understood Tyrus' cryptic descriptions, but at the same time, he didn't really want to. He sat back down, feeling awkward about the current situation as he did so.

Lucius rises respectfully, but places his hands in his pocket and then takes a long sigh. "Your honor....I'm not some fancy lawyer, I don't know all the quirks in this room, and I don't know how to defend myself properly, I'm really pissed at this whole legal system." He raises his index finger, "First of all, the police wake me up, sleeping on the floor of a local park, then they take me to a jail for like a whole day and without feeding me." He then counted to two, "Then they said I needed to buy a damned suit for my own trial to a crime I did not commit, and then, I come here and I still haven't got a lawyer....isn't that bad? I didn't have council or whatever...."

The judge stare quizzically at Lucius.
Judge:
Without a council?
This is in clear violation of judicial process!
I demand that this man be given council before this trial can begin!
And that means this trial is over.
Court will reconvene tomorrow at 11:00.
Court is adjourned!
With the sound of the judge's gavel. Court ended for the day. This trial would have to be put on hold for violation of judicial practice. The bailiff escorted Lucius out of the courtroom into the defendant lobby to be taken back to the detention center for another day.

Tyrus stood up slowly, looking at his watch,"oh my. It's only just gone mid-day..." He looked around the court-room, the frowned worriedly,"Samuel, we'll be leaving in around 5 minutes. My sister appreantly still hasn't left the house, so I'm estimating that either you or myself had forgotten to tell her about the court case today. As long as we can get back before One PM, we can avoid possible mishaps, and even manage to secure a high quality lunch!" He then took a more relaxed stance,"however, if we arrive even a minute later than the alloted time..." Tyrus shuddered,"Oh hell. Screw it. Samuel, we leave NOW!" He grabbed his bag, locked it shut, picked up Samuel, who had just managed to secure his bag, then dashed out of the court room. A minute later, he was outside of the court, standing on the pavement with a hurried expression on his face,"Taxi! Taxi! Hello? Taxi!"

Lucius sighed deeply, putting out the cigarette and hiding the pack in his clothes, "Another day in hell..." he relaxed his shoulders a bit and then looked up, "Maybe...maybe I could get a mistrial and go back to living off the streets, heh." He closed his eyes, remembering slightly what happened on the night he visited the old man's store. "I...heh" 'Shouldn't take out loud....they might catch me...'

Bailiff:
Mr. Daniels, we'll be going now.
The bailiff had come out of the courtroom and waited for the young man to finish his cigarette. After he was done he escorted him to the rear of the courthouse to await the van to the detention center.
Waiting in his car was a suspicious-looking man in a black coat with a neck ruffle and a furrowed brow. Curiously, he stared down the van and waited for it to leave for the detention center.

Lucius went back to the detention center and sighed deeply entering his so called "home" once he'd entered, he was forced to change out of his suit, into the uniform given to all the detainees.
"Once I get outta here...I swear, I'm gonna burn a hole through whatever money I get with alcohol." He closed his eyes and lowered his head, heading to his quarters.

Zeresh was quite pissed. Not only had he been forced to be someone's council; Now the trial wasn't even going to happen today. This was definitely not Zeresh's best day. Zeresh got up shortly after Tyrus and Samuel had stormed out of the room. Zeresh bowed to the judge and bid him to have a nice day. Then Zeresh himself stormed out of the courthouse. When he got outside Zeresh noticed Tyrus trying to hale a cab and he walked over to the boy. "Tyrus I see your in quite the predicament. how about you take a ride with me? I can go get my car and be back here in a few minutes. Do you and Samuel want to walk over to my car with me?" Zeresh said with a smile. I need to get to know Tyrus so he can fit into my plans. Zeresh thought to himself as he waited for Tyrus's reply.

Tyrus scratched his head,"Indeed. At the rate This is currently going, that would definitely be the best option..." He nodded his head,"very well then. If it won't cause you trouble, then I will accept your offer." Being as Middle Class and British as Tyrus was meant that he gave incredibly indirect answers. As a result, it was sometimes hard to tell exactly what he really wanted. He placed one hand into his pocket,"on the other plus side.. we could get to know each other better, seeing as we're both on the same team, as it were.." Tyrus pulled out a small, notebook like object, placing a thin slip of paper in between the 20th and 30th pages..

Zeresh was impressed. The boy had accepted his offer without even questioning Zeresh's motives. Yes, he'll fit into my plans quite well. Perhaps he may be crucial to getting to the bottom of this mess.Zeresh thought as Tyrus was putting a bookmark in the book he was reading. As Zeresh was about to got get his car he heard a voice he knew only too well- Armon Giden. Zeresh turned and bowed to Armon. It was quite a surprise to be in the presence of the chief prosecutor. " Yes, hopefully tomorrow will be much more benficial for us. I hope to get a guilty verdict as quickly as possible. Tyrus, shall we be going?" Zeresh said as he started to head towards the parking garage keys in hand.

Tyrus nodded his head,"I hope your day fares better than ours, Mr.Armon.." Tyrus looked at his watch, then turned back to Zeresh,"Yes lets, and it also appears as though I'm running.. slightly ahead of time. Care to stop for a quick coffee along the way?" Samuel suddenly piped up from next to Tyrus,"Mr.Tyrus, a quick word.." Tyrus crouched slightly, leaning into Samuel's ear. Samuel spoke at a whispering tone so that Zeresh was unable to pick up what he was telling Tyrus,"Do you trust that Zeresh's motives are noble? This could urn out to be part of an elaborate plan to extract information fro." Tyrus interrupted with a slight grin on his face,"well then, we'll just have to steal his strategy, won't we?" Samuel seemed puzzled. Tyrus secretly handed him the notebook, then turned back to Zeresh,"I happen to know a place not too far from here. Would that be fine with you?" Samuel quietly opened the book, in which the lines,'watch him carefully, and note down what he says', were written.

(OOC: I'm sorry for my lack of postage. Work has been killing me! The cafe has been quite busy. I'm also getting geared up again for the new college year. Also, who is the make the defense attourney character? Twilight, what ever became of the def attourney character your friend had written up?)
Zeresh smiled. So, the boy shared his obsession of coffee. This should be interesting. " Eh, why not? After all, the trial has been re-scheduled for the day. What have we got to lose?" Zeresh said as the group reached his car. It was a 2029 red mustang; All leather interior and rather expensive looking. It would seem someone had some money to burn. Zeresh upon reaching the car unlocked it and opened the passenger side door for Tyrus. After the boy had gotten in Zeresh then went on to help samuel get in the car. After that Zeresh got into the driver's seat; shut the door and locked the doors.
Then the group headed off towards the cafe Tyrus had talked about. "I think it would be suitable if we were made more familiar with each other. I'll tell you something about me and you'll tell me something about you. Are we in agreement? Good." Zeresh then continued after stating his terms. " I was admitted to the prosecutor's office at the age of 14 and have been prosecuting ever since. My favorite hobbies are reading comics, drinking coffee, and eating at different resturants. I also enjoy a good law book. After all, one must always stay up to date on the workings of the law no?" Zeresh said with a laugh. This boy is interesting. He is obviously up to something. he has that look of mischief on his face. The only question is what? Zeresh thought as he continued to drive the car.
