i comletely agree with you on all terms. i am not a fan of gore either. i remember watching this show i was a bit taken back at some times although it is just animation. I grew accustomed to it. and i am still not a fan of gore. action is fun, but my favorite shows arent all action. I guess i connect to InuYasha more than other people because of what i was going through when i got really into it. and what it helped me through. were all of you aware of what InuYasha was before teh show came to the states?

I actually liked Inuyasha, and the ending, while kinda nice, did miss out on some stuff they could've done. Hell, the whole last 180 chapters were frickin' AMAZING!

Also, there's no news on continuing the anime. Tough ****.

I would like to add that while Inuyasha was drawn out and such, there WAS progression, atleast with character development and smaller subplots, and the manga had a lot faster pace than the anime did, so if you cut out all the filler, and adapt the show so that fights lasted one episode, and then animated the whole manga, you'd have 600 episodes, easy.

But god damn, she did drag it out, regardless. This series could've easily been compressed from 558 to maybe 280.

So basically the reason why people tend to hate IunYasha is because of the anime's long and slow story and without really an ending (you know what I mean --_--;;); but if the manga's different (as in faster) then that's better, I couldn't tell since I haven't read a single page.

That is the general consensus.

i am not a big manga reader. i like to see the action not read it. However, i have heard that the manga is very different. I think the 33 volume is out adn 34 is coming out soon. i am not too sure. Plus Japan has all 56 volumes published now. But i think there are a few more that have not been published. i am not sure.

I would read all 33 (56) mangas but that is so expensive! i used to have about 10 volumes. of the old old old kind where you read them left to right and some where you read from right to left, but i lost them and gave them away. =( i might start again, but who knows.

Well then the obvious thing to do would be to read the manga before criticizing it, but some people haven't got the message.(Not saying you just almost everyone one else who's replied to this topic)

Like AT said, the manga actually progressed without fillers and such. It got straight into it, headfirst and went nuts on it.

Terajima, please use the edit button. Do not double post.

Yeah... If they compressed it enough I would probably like it a lot more.

Then why didnt the anime just follow the manga chapter by chapter? that would have been much less work for the staff.

This is just a guess, but probably because both started about the same time (manga and anime) so when the anime catch up with the manga they had fill in the blanks while manga advanced. It has happened before with other shows (Naruto anyone?).

HA If only.

Not only would they still catch up to them, the fillers would be rather imeanse.

Any of these extended series you see(Bleach, naruto, inuyasha etc.), the anime always catchs up to the manga. So as to not spoil things for the anime fans and to create more material so they can create more shows with the canon stuff, the animators create fillers which allows for the time bettween the last chapter of the manga which is animated until when the creater of the series creates enough manga chapters in order to advance the plot quite a number of episodes.

The anime did start later, yes, but when you consider that the chapters of the manga only came out one a week, with only 14 or so pages, as opposed to thirty minute installments every week, it was very, very easy to catch up. This isn't even counting all the breaks the manga took that the anime didn't.

That'd happen if they were actually planning on continuing on making an anime version for it; but that's just thinking postive, I mean if they'd actually think of doing it again, who knows if we'd still have fillers.
Personally I'd prefer OVA's.

I hope they do that if they plan to continue the series. I have heard that they are planning on continuing it though which makes me very happy ^_^.

There has been some talk for a while that they planned to continue it after the series had ended because they were tired of making up storylines and fillers for the show. so i do hope they plan on doing that. however, i heard the show will be an OVA. which doesnt bother me as long as it is the same staff and english voice cast. that will make me happy ^_^

If anyone has any detailed information on this please post here on this thread.

I'm quite happy that InuYasha (the manga) ended in Japan, finally. It gives me hope for the manga here in the States.
I've always thought the manga was better. No pointless fillers, better paced story, better story period, etc etc. You get the picture.

To Terejima, you should really try to buy the manga. It's worth it, especially if you like IY that much. It's generally more satisfying than the anime too, IMO.

Here you go: Kagome kills him.

Oh my god, totally.

Basically, it turns out that Kagome's powers are a LOT stronger than Kikyo's ever were by thousands of magnitudes, but the evil side of the Shikon Jewel sealed them so she couldn't pwn it. Naraku gets the full Jewel, Kikyo remerges with Kagome and dies, and with her last act fully resurrects Kohaku. Tessaiga and Tenseiga basically merge, Sesshomaru finally accepts Inuyasha as his equal, and the group pwns Naraku together, and Kagome, delivering the last blow, is all "lol your wish was for Kikyo's love but you can't have it lol." so Naraku's soul enters the Jewel and makes a last wish, pulling Kagome and Inuyasha into a Meidou.

The Jewel, in order to protect it's existence, separates the two and tries to trick Kagome into making a selfish wish to be with Inuyasha, which would cause Kagome and Naraku to continue the fight in the Jewel Magutsuchi and Midoriko already started. The love between our heroes causes them to reunite, though, and Kagome instead wishes for the Jewel to cease existing.

Kagome then goes home to finish school and stuff for three years, and it's revealed that during that time she can't go back because of her relief at being done with her adventure, her emotions being what allowed her to time travel. When she finishes, though, she decides that a world without Inuyasha isn't her world, and decides to live in the Feudal Era.

i was crushed when i read the final chapters. i mean crushed in a good sad way. i am thinking about buying all the mangas even though it will be insanely expensive. however, how long does it take for mangas in japan to get to the USA. i mean Japan has 56 volumes out and we only have 34. i think the 34 volume is coming out soon. does anyone know?

All i can say is its about time this damn show ended. I mean i could stand it in the beginning, but after awhile, it got tired and played out. Not to mention i saw every episode like 30 times each because Cartoon Network kept airing them over and over again.
