Wait, I am a little behind, I didnt think it was a defenate thing. I just thought they hinted at it and most people assumed it was true. Do they say anywhere "Haseo once played The World as Sora" or something? If so, where? Because they did say that Sora was the first choice for Skeith to go to, BUT HE WASNT AROUND so it went to Haseo.

Personally, I think its crap.
It was a pointless plot twist that just seemed..... dumb to me.
Haseo was fine as a brand new stand alone character, and to think of him as the childish, always happy, jumping, singing, looking for girls, backstabbing people, being loud, and all around annoying Sora just doest add up. I hated Sora, but I loved Haseo.
This is like, tramatic for me.

the .hack wiki's haseo page states that its fact that he was the same person as sora. but it is a wiki so for w/e its worth

.hack//Wiki is a very reliable source of information, when it's not vandalized. The information came from the .hack//G.U. Perfect Guidebook. Sora's name was listed as Misaki Ryou (Haseo's name) and the timeline mentioned that Ryou played The World R:1 and was placed into a 6+ month coma when Data Drained.

Well it's just kinda there (Haseo=Sora thing)... I am a lil upset that Haseo isn't exactly "new", but I would have never known otherwise. And it just goes to show you by how much people can change (damn, how he changed).

That's kinda why I editted it out. I originally said Dot Hack was like a soap opera because of the love polygons (Triangle, square, whatever), comas, and amnesia, but I guess lots of shows are like that... Plus, it hurts to call Dot Hack a soap opera for some reason... Still, to have comas AND amnesia is a cliche for soap operas. (Lol)

But Dot Hack is too great to call it a soap... It's just awesome, awesome to the MAX!!! I don't think soap operas can make me cry tears of sorrow, just laughter...

Edit: I have fond childhood memories of my aunt screaming "****!!!" at the top of her lungs when she would watch a soap, when all I wanted to watch was "Winnie the Pooh"...

Exactly what it says. According to the perfect guide after waking up since he had lost all memory of ever playing Sora never accessed his orginal account again. So he couldn't have been their in Unison. It could have been the A.I. but if it wasn't then Unison is non canon now.

after going through all the normal steps denial anger etc...(lol) and mind altering experience(with the aid of a certain magical fungus) i've come to the conclusion that haseo being sora is only about as ridiculous as everything else in existance. and thats ok with me.

i know its an odd statement but to go into exactly what i mean would b very complicated to explain and plus you might not get it even if i tried. sometimes people know things and don't have the ability to express what they know withwords.

It might also be possible that Unison was never canon in the first place. At the time Unison was supposed to take place, Wiseman should have been frequenting Net Slum, yet throughout that entire episode, he's nowhere in sight. How do you explain that?

It's the new guide that came out like last week. It says basically what I said and is official and the new word on the series. So basically Unison is retconned into not existance. Not the first time this has happened in entertainment (comics do it all the freaking time, Crisis of Infinite Earth's anyone?) So either Unison never happened, or it wasn't the real Sora since he couldn't have been there. Since Unison seemed like pointless fanservice anyway (I think many of the SIGN and Original series characters just stopped playing after their respected tasks were completed) it's really no big deal to think it never happened. Unless that monkey dance was just so critical to the plot of the series.

I really don´t care about it because it isn´t a major contribution to the main storyline. The point is why did "this mistery" take so long.....

Well since I didn't really like Unison anyway yeah I'm fine with it. I thought the party at the end was dumbest thing I'd ever seen. In fact I think G.U. on the whole is far superior to the first series in every way. So if they want to change things for G.U. i'm completely cool with it.
