An_Idea, don't bother arguing with Wander. As for Bigjoecool, he is actually against the game being based on event, but not violent games in general.

Exactly
An_Idea wrote:what do you think is more helpful to a potential teenage massmurderer?
A game where he roleplays the first big school shooting of the 20th century?
Or taking the time to find a different kind of outlet?
Violent video games
are a different outlet (than actual murder). Personally, I'm not into them, (besides .hack I play Mario, Wario, Zelda, Madden and WiiSports) I also agree that it's in extremely bad taste to base the game on actual real-life tragedy but topics like this just give the guy (game designer) free publicity. I'm sure the game is crappy anyways.
All publicity is good publicity

Did the gun who made this game went to school when this happened?

I remember that. A whole bunch of people were outraged, and then it sort of filtered away.
Those of you who get pissy about it are hypocrites. People play games based on the Iraq and second world war all the time. GTA has you beating up hookers. Would you like to hear something from a dead hooker's mother? Or how about an Iraqi wife mourn the loss of her husband?
The only difference here is the body count is quite a bit less, and people are 'morally outraged'.
Next: 9/11 Flight Simulator. Control hostages while attempting to kill hundreds of American citizens! If you miss, you still ruin
somebody's day!

Wander wrote:Sounds like a good marketing idea. A Virginia Tech massacre game would sell like McDonald's french *ehem* excuse me, freedom fries.
Yeah, It's a great marketing idea. A pretty sick and twisted one too.

You all need to take a hint and read the rules.
