Even if you import your data, the bosses will be hard if you do it right. The problem isn't that .hack can't be hard, just that it can be easy, and I don't see how that's worth complaining about.

I find it interesting that the code for the US Version of REMINISCE saves is in the original Japanese code ;o
uhh... are you saying that you took this out of JAP version Reminisce ?
if you did.... all i can say is wth O_O

it should be: BISLPS on te JAP version, since BI is the prefix of JAP games as in BA is the prefix for US games, what i noticed is that every version,
the last line is always BI since it's the dataflag of //Fragment.

but anyway... when i checked the JAP reminisce, i only got those BISLPS lines from it (as it should be unless the game is region free which it isn't)

so... if you really got that out of Reminisce, i'll give a garth token for a screenshot ^_^
since that code basically defines the region of the game.
OR could it be that you're hiding teh US version of reminisce ? *calls Tri-Edge to DD you*

Maybe Bandai did it knowing there would be people like you guys going around and checking out the data. Pfft, I wouldn't be surprised if you guys ended up being Epitaph Users

Zer0 wrote:Erm, sorry about the confusion. I was working on a modification for Volume 2 using Volume 1, and I accidentally opened Volume 1's PRG instead of Volume 2's. Although, in Volume 2's disk, there's an ENG, JAP, SPA, FRA, GER, ITA, and other language files, probably to make translating much easier.
Too bad that doesn't help to make the release date come faster. But what kind of modification were you trying to do?

So the game always had an multilanguage sub.... how strange they didn't put the option to change the sub.... it would be SO much easier for us...

Well, a action replay can do it (from what I heard), so I think it isn't always necessary to have a Modchip, although I have one I'm my PS2... and it's still working, even after 4 years

as you see from the picture, these languages potential possibilities for the game i think,
and what can be seen from the picture is that only JAP has some data in it, when they're opened on hex editor, they're almost blank exluding some unreadable data.
when the JAP file on the otherhand is opened on hex editor you kan find all kinds of things like NPC namelists and stuff like that.

here's a small example of stuff that can be found:

Piroshi the 3rd.
Endrance........
unknown1........
Bordeaux........
Azure Flame Kite
...Azure Balmung
...Azure Orca...
Negimaru........
unknown4........
unknown5........
unknown6........

*i could also write the hex values but i don't think that someone is interested about those*

also, when i made my modification from //Reminisce, this particular .LNG file was used to when i colored dialog boxes black and tested stuff like that.

this is taken from Vol.2

and Zer0 did you notice that the JAP version has the option to import save from //Fragment. ? what the h*ll do you get when you import //Fragment save to //G.U.
*goes to search for a //Fragment savefile to test out*

what im gonna test next is that does it work if i change these, so that the game would accept US saves even if it's a JAP game, even tho it really doesn't matter since now i can use any save with any version, and it's easier to edit the saves than the game.

and what comes to the newgame+ mode.

someone wanna give me some details ? is there some nice bonuses or something when playing the newgame+ mode ?
How can u get save files from Fragment? I thought that was online

So how does the Action Replay thing work? Do you just put in the action replay disc then chose 'play game' and switch to the inport disk? I'd get some jp. games if it was that easy
*Looks lovingly at .hack//Fragment, .hack//GU Vol.3 ToD remake and ToD2* If only...

BalgusX

it is very possible to translate the game, and that is exatly what i've been trying to get done.

the problem is that i can't read japanese, and the fact that at this moment i can't say if it even work whne edited, i've had few files that literally die after even one letter is changed from the source :(

it's still too early to say anything, but we're working on it ^_____^
