I've only got the Liminality OST, so my favs from it are probably Liminality#1, Emerald Green, and Sweet Memories.

I like Japanese music so, I'd say I have four favorites:

The Tale You Were In(Liminality Opening 3)
Yasashii Yoake(.hack//SIGN Ending)
Harold's Theme
Tasogare No Umi(Twilight Sea/Liminality Ending Song)

To buy? You can get it off of Froogle, Amazon, YesAsia, and about anywhere else that sells CDs. I think it runs from $15 - $25. As for the songs themselves, I can upload some if need be.

I've got tons of favorites. xD Personally, I don't think you can compare the music from the different parts of the series, so I put them into categories:

.hack//SIGN

- A Stray Child: Gotta love the vocals and lyrics.
- Silent Life: I can't tell if this song has a hopeful tone or one of resignation, so I like it.
- Obsession, TV Mix: The other versions are too slow, IMHO. This song used to give me goosebumps when I listened. xD

- In the Land of Twilight, Under the Moon: The lyrics are good, and I love the "la la la" part towards the end.
- Bear: The scene in //GIFT that features it is what makes me love this song. >>
- Where You Are: Short, sweet, impressive.
- Secret Project: One of my favorites in the entire series.
- End of the World: Very quiet, and overall, it's quite peculiar. I love it.
- Das Wandern: I like it. D= Few others mention it.

.hack//LotT

- More and More: Really fun and video game-ey.
- Dawn: Sweet, hopeful song.
- Where Shall We Go? - If memory serves, this is the really relaxing one that they play in the DVD menu. I love it.

.hack//LIMINALITY

- Grandpa's Violin: I don't need to explain as to why I love this song. xD
- Tokuoka: Reminds me of the time he steals a kid's bike. xD
- Mai: The best song on the CD, IMHO. I could have that playing 24/7, and I wouldn't tire of it.
- Unforgettable: Very pretty and sad in a subdued way.
- All versions of Liminality: I love this song to bits. My choir wants to perform it, but we'd need official sheet music and possibly a accompinament sheet music... *sigh*
- Of course, all of the openings and the closing.

Games

- Mac Anu: Sounds ten times better on the CD.
- Aura's Theme: I love the singer who performs this. Simply wonderful.
- Lios ~ Helba: Their themes are combined on this track, and they're awesome. xD They're perfect together.
- Macha's Arrival: Not very many reasons to NOT like this song...
- Phase 6 Macha: Only Phase song I can tolerate.
- Harald's Theme: Oh, how I long to have an mp3 or CD with this song on it! It's one of my absolute favorites.

*phew* Well... My list is considerably larger than most other people's. ^^; If you'd believe it, I cut it back some before posting. It's hard for me to pick favorites because I appreciate every song I hear. These are just the ones I really like. The music in the series of .hack is so good that even anime and video game haters love it, so it's understandable as to why it's difficult for a fan to choose songs. ^^;

... But you have to admit that I did pretty good, considering the amount of songs on each CD. >>; ... ^^; Sorry for not being able to choose just one.

My favorite song by Kajiura is "Anna ni issho datta no ni" from Gundam Seed.

My favorite song from .hack//SIGN is "Yasashii Yoake."

I'm going to have to go with my favorite music from .hack//sign, since I'm not as familiar with music/titles from the games or other anime series. My favorite is "Magic and Sword". It's just such a unique track! Very well done.

As for my favorite song (with lyrics) I'm going to have to say "The World". The lyrics are absolutely amazing as is the instrumentals.

I would have to say "Edge" and "Thousand and one nights"

I'd say, "Yasashii Ryoute"

I'd say Yasashi Ryoute as well, but SIGN's OST is my second favorite.
