What's more, the eight chains upon her statue represent the eight pahses. I'm not entirely sure myself (because I never paid attention to it), but I did read that with the defeat of a phase its corresponding chain disappears.
Currently, there's no evidence to support whether Aura is present or not. So far, the G.U. series hads completely ignored her, and avoided the question of her presence.
