No, they only couldn't contact him.

Could it be that after IMOQ and SIGN, Sora had no memory of The World and never logged in again? And the Sora that appeared in Unison was the AI version of Sora that joins you at the end of IMOQ? So if they are the same, it'd make sense that Haseo wouldn't remember anything, even more so because it's R:2 and not R:1.

after hearing what Bryce_P and Kuukai just said, I'm willing to accept that Haseo is Sora (if it's true), as that fits in with the theme's of G.U.

But then if Sora/Haseo has amnesia, then there's no POINT in making them the same whatsoever.

Maybe it's just for fans. Or maybe they want to do something with it later. Or maybe most of .hack is supposed to be Sora's life story. It kinda works for the Grow Up theme, at least...

By the way, I realized that the CC2 site has a picture of Haseo irl, and Analysis has a picture of Sora's face, so I compared them, to see if there was any obvious impossibility, and they actually look quite similar, as subjective as that is...

So even CC2 is giving hints, I´m really starting to think Haseo is Sora, but withsome type of amnesia, but then, if so what would be the so called friend that showed him "The World"... this no one comfirmed...

Yeah the G.U. theme seems to match with Sora/Haseo considering how Sora used to be a punk/PKer in Sign now he has grown into to a wise young man, fighting for what he belives in in vol 3.

Maybe Haseo has some kind of split personality,  just like Bo
His "friend" was just the "Sora" personality...
I really, really hope that's not the case

Either that or his hidden memories manifest themselves in his dreams as a "friend"...or he can just very vaguely recall the some of the feelings/experiences he had in R:1, but thinks they must just be what someone else told him about the game 'cus he can't remember ever playing it...

i think it was said earlier that Haseo and Sora are the same person with a memory loss. i don't think multiple personalities or anything like that are relevant. the book has been proved as canon and completely correct, unless i'm wrong.

just take it at this:
Sora was a kid. He PKed because he was a little loser.
He got Data Drained. He was in a coma. He lost his memory. children have this wonderful way of suppressing bad memories. and i think he was younger than 10. so the younger, the less likely he is to remember anything like that.

just don't try to think too hard about it... its really a waste of time. just know that its true, don't explain it, and be happy. that's why its called "entertainment." its not supposed to be so complicated.

Well, his "friend" told him about The World long ago, it could very well be the person who introduced Sora to it. It also said in like the first character book that he saw an R:2 and felt a strange nostalgia.

I haven't seen a scan of the Sora picture yet. I'll try to scan it sometime...

If you aslo check .Hack wiki's Sora profile you can see that Sora always had a busy school schedule which can also tie into why Haseo is almost never at home and comes from a well managed family.^^

I didnt realize Haseo was never home. from what I read, his father was never around, so he was always aloneat home, giving me the presumption that he had plenty of free time to play the world r2., but he did go to private school, so that would seem tedious.

That would be hilarious tho....

honestly i think it would be good if haseo was sora. i'm probably one of the only ones here who liked how the game designers decided to bring back alot of the old characters. it allows us to get to know those characters better. honestly, a slow developing storyline can do wonders for character inprovement. hopfully if they make a R3 they will bring back some of the characters from IMOQ and G.U.

too much of the same thign gets old. I was happy with Sieg= Kuhn and Yata= Wiseman. They hsouldent have so many charecters be from IMOQ.

But yeah, I somewhat agree, but at the same time, it serves its purpose.
To new players: The characters are new to them and they dont have to do much digging in their background to know the story.
To veterans: We get to see how some characters have developed and even get to focus on some characters that were minor players last time.

Its not like they threw it in everyones face, so its not such a big thing if Sora=Haseo, since its not so much an important piece of information to the game itself. More like a fun factor or those things for diehard fans to decode and enjoy like we do here so many times.

In essence, I dont care anymore. Haseo-san is still Haseo-san, right?
