Sirius woke to a fire near him, the ruins of the temple far behind him. He could just barely make out a small piece of rubble if it was even the right direction. Sleeping near a few creatures lay Lucine, her mouth holding a little blood. She looked much weaker than before, paler. He shook his head, seeing some meat had been cooking on a spit above the fire. "So...you really are a risk taker." He spoke, picking up the meat and nibbling at it. The creatures around her seemed to be quite protective. Not that he could blame them. She was the only monster tamer left with such forbidden knowledge. Soon enough, if her plan worked out...she'd no longer exist. The same with this world. "I'm sorry Lucine, but I won't allow you to die."

Yuri: hmmmmmmmm allright then I guess you guys arent inbterested in a card game the buzzer goes off on his phone and he looks at it} guys an I.P.D Out break right by the old ruins we have to go { he throws his jacket on and he sticks the cross in his pocket} allright get ready we have to hurry besides I know a short cut

The I.P.D. disease... A light chill ran down Rayne's spine, shaking her shoulders faintly, at the thought of the first and last time she had actually seen a few Reyvatails be affected by the disease. It's been awhile since I've seen an outbreak..

There had been a reason for that, however. It had been the single scariest moment of her life. Closing her eyes momentarely to steady herself, Rayne turned back towards Yuri and Chance and nodded softly, her voice coming out soft, but steady. "Alright...I'm ready to go whenever you two are.."

And this time, she continued in her thoughts, I refuse to freeze up again like I did before...I will sing this time, and I won't hesitate again..I can't hesitate again...

Yuri: allright lets go { he opens the door and theres a bicycle that yuri uses} allright both of you hop on its a one seater but I'll get us there in a minute flat! hurry!

Infecred reyveiteils: blowing up areas with their song magic and they obviouslly have not control

Rayne's breathing suddenly became almost painful, and she gasped lightly in responce. She turned away and gripped onto the counter in front of her for support. What's...happening?..Why is it...so hard to breathe?..

A flash appeared in her mind and she realized why it felt as it did, though she didn't know how it was that she knew. "We need to hurry.." she started, forcing herself to turn around and face Yuri and Chance. "The infected....Reyvatails are singing a really powerful song..If we can't stop them soon, they'll...hurt a lot of people...." Her voice was lightly strained as she explained, but it was still clear and understandable.

It took Chance ten seconds to pull his gear back on, but they felt excruciatingly long. He used such little armor because he could pull it on so quickly, compared to how long it took the others he had trained with to get fully prepared, but it still felt like forever when something was happening right away. He halted for a half a second at Rayne's words, but he hopped onto the bike albeit it felt a bit awkward since it was only designed for one person. He gripped the hilt of his sword and looked down the lackluster blade. He had never fought a reyvetail before and he knew he had to stop them, but he wasn't sure how. Considering his weaponry the only options he could see were to either kill them, beat them down with punches, or smack them with the flat of his blade. The first was obviously the quickest, but it wasn't their fault that they were doing this since they were infected.

Yuri: chance if you stike one of them down I'll strike you down they cant help themselves its just the disease knock them out k { he helps rayne on the bike and then he petals off and he's going really fast and then they arrive faster then by car and he spots the reyveiteils { and he gets off the bike and he draws necromancer} Necromancer help me { it becomes knights sword though its edges are blunt} Rayne do you have a song that can cancel out a reyveiteils abilities all I need is aminute { he looks up and his eyes r glowing green like gems and he has a serious look on his face and he starts running towards them} RAHHHH!!!! Chance back me up and disable as many as you can

infected reyveiteil: { looks at yuri and then dashes at him and singing an attack type song and flames rise from the ground and go towards Yuri}

Yuri: * crap* { he dives out of the way and he rolls on the ground and he stands up as the other reyveiteils surround him and all start to chain a song together} damn {he holds his sword at ready} anytime chance Rayne I could really use the help here

Rayne felt the familiar surge tingle up her spine as she closed her eyes and began singing. A small bubble-like object appeared above her as she lifted her hands to the air, giving off the appearance that she was somehow supporting the floating orb. I may not have a song that can directly cancel their abilities, but I can cast a shield for us..I just hope it's strong enough to keep whatever song they plan to cast away from Chance and Yuri....

Only a few moments later, the bubble was twice it's original size, and still growing in power as they continued holding off the infected Reyvatails. "Just tell me when to cast it, and I'll do my best," she said quickly in the middle of her song, jumping back to the lyrics immediately to keep the song growing stronger.

Chance drops his sword as he rolls out of the way of the flames, his sword is engulfed, cutting him off from it. Not like I was going to be able to use it. He yanks out a pair of daggers as he charges at the nearest reyvetail and chunks them at two of the ones surrounding Yuri, not going for a kill just trying to hit them in the side and distract them. He then shoulders the singer he had been on route to just in time for the ground to begin opening up beneath him. Not gonna happen. He grabs the gal he just ran into and chunks her at another.

Springing across the gap beneath his feet he lands on his hands in front of another and launches his feet into her jaw. He wraps his legs around her as they both go airborne. He twists in the air and releases her so that he can hook her beneath an arm just before his feet greet the dirt. He tosses her to the side and runs for the next one as flames spring up beneath him. And I actually thought that crazy obstacle course was fun...this is absolutely nuts. And as dangerous as it is to stop moving in a fight like this... He hammers one in the gut with his gauntlet and grabs another by her collar and introduces her head to his knee. there's no way I can keep up those acrobatics for too too long.

Yuri: {he wacks one in the neck as one jumps ontop of him}

infected reyveiteil: you bear reyveiteil blood why do you side with the humans you should be helping us destroy this city were the same

Yuri: were the same? sorry but I dont know what your talking about { he fixes his grip on the sword and wacks the reyveiteil with the hilt knocking her unconsious and then the others jump towards him} Rayne do it now! { he stands up and runs towards them} RAAAHHHH!!! * I'll save them all I have to* { he starts wacking all of them with his blunt sword and then they just get back up} Dammit! bring it on { he runs back to rayne and starts defending her from reyveiteils magic getting him hurt but he just smiles} heh is that al you got I can take this all day! { he picks up chances sword and tosses it to him} use the back side { he looks at his coat} ohh man you guys ruined it! { he gets ready as another infected reyveiteil starts to fire a fire ball with a face at rayne and he stands in his blocking position}

He's protecting me, just as he promised he would.... Rayne felt the magic of the song grow within her at this thought. It was something she had never felt before.

With a light nod to show that she had heard him, Rayne quickly lowered her hands before her body, letting the now giant bubble hold free above her. "Protect us," she said softly, glancing up to see just how effective her song had been. The bubble swelled for a second before a small blue fairy popped up behind it, laughing as she held out her right hand index finger and poked it. The bubble popped, forming thousands of tiny bubbles that then found their way around their party, surging to form a huge, light blue domed shield around them.

I did it! I didn't freeze up this time! she thought to herself, suprise echoing in her mental tone.

Rayne smiled wide and, even though she was feeling a little drained from the shield, she still quietly asked Yuri, "Do you want me to cast another song now?"

Yuri: no it's fine you did good { he waits a minute and then rushes out of the bubble and he rushes aat the other infected reyveiteils and he knocks the rest unconsious and then the knight fly in in their air ships taking out strechers tending to the wounded and straping the reyveitals down on them} *breathing heavily* { falls down on his ass and he holds his wounds} own jeez that hurt looks like I over did it abit you guys okay

It wasn't easy using the flat of his sword since it was double edged and using the flat sides made it rather unwieldy, so Chance had to pull his strikes several times and it nearly got him killed, but he managed to avoid causing any deaths, including his own. But he was sure that was mostly thanks to Lady Rayne's magic saving his hide.

He stabbed his blade into the ground in front of Yuri and then slid down the side of it facing his mentor. "A little knocked around and a little singed, but I've had worse." And Yuri was in worse shape than himself. He had watched his master take all of those attacks. He was amazed he wasn't in worse shape. He leaned back against his sword craning his neck and shading his eyes as his gaze wandered up to the airships. Some day, I'm gonna fly one of those. He cast his gaze back to the ground, letting his hand fall to the hilt of a knife. Yeah right, like I have any chance of that. It's a miracle I've been allowed to squire to a knight like Yuri at all much less fly one of those considering... "They sure took their sweet time getting here, didn't they." He grumbled, stabbing a knife into the dirt.

"You know Lucine, it's a bit crazy what you're doing." Sirius spoke, the said gently petting a creature on her shoulder. "Can't you understand... Can't you understand people care about you?"

"I doubt many do for what I did."

"Still."

"Even if there are a few that may care about me...A reyevtail like you couldn't possibly want to hear that terrible song."

"So you knew." She nodded. "For how long?"

"You seemed like you'd given up on life. You don't sing anymore. I only sing terrible songs of destruction. I am not a reyevtail yet I can sing such things."

"Perhaps lineage leads back to it." She shook her head.

"It's just a gift we have that is not allowed to touch such beings as you. I am destruction caused by human hands. God makes humans suffer that way."

"I wish I could help some more, but I honestly...Well, I don't really know that many songs," she quietly confessed to the two, glancing up to watch the knights retrieve the infected Reyvatails. The pressure she had felt earlier was now gone, and she felt as fine as she had before the sudden incident. The bubble shield was also gone, having faded away as soon as the Reyvatails had fallen. Rayne now stood infront of the two, holding her hands so that one was layed above the other in front of her body.

Bringing her gaze back to the two before her, Rayne continued speaking in a quieted voice, willing to do whatever she could to help them. Afterall, they hadn't let her get hurt at all during the battle. Even without her own personal want to help them, she owed it to them to do what she could. "I know one that may help a little, but it won't be too effective. None of the songs I do have are very powerful.."

Yuri: hey no need to worry you did really good and that song was really helpful I and you dont have to push yourself if your tired then take a rest so rayne I have to say this thanks and your the best partner I could ask for { he stands up wobbly} ow ow ow I'm fine rayne really lets get back home { he gets on his bike} come on you 2 *yawn* I'm exhausted lets go

"Thanks for the offer Rayne and your magic was very helpful out there, but I don't want to get used to the idea of no consequences if I do something stupid and get hurt in a fight." He hopped up to his feet and sheathed his weapons. He placed a hand on the handle of the bike rather than getting back on. "Yuri, maybe I should pedal home. I may not be quite as fast, but you look like you're about to fall apart. Maybe you should rest while Lady Rayne tends to your injuries." He honestly wasn't sure if his master could even make it a mile on the bike in his current state.

Yuri: hey chance I'll tell you something I'm fine I can do this I've been through much much worse a small bike ride I can deal with it hey rayne you comin { he bikes over to her and helps her on and then gets chance on the bike} lets go { he starts biking normal pace and despite his injuries he keeps a a pretty steady bike ride and then they get back to his house and he walks inside and he and he throws his coat off and he plops himself on the couch} you guys get can the bedrooms ahh ow crap I should really get checked out when I get the chance ohh wait hey rayne do you know and healing songs

"Yes, I do, Yuri," she replied softly, "But it's not a very strong one, so I won't be able to help heal you too much...I'm willing to try, though, if you don't mind."

Rayne walked over to where Yuri lay, coming to a stop directly in front of him. Where she now stood helped her examine what damage she could see on him, telling her how strong she would need to try singing for the song to be most effective. Her facial expression showed concern as she thought it all over, but she was restraining it well and staying calm about it. The calmer she could be, the more effective her song could be should he still want her to cast it.

If it could help any at all, Rayne would sing it as best as she knew how to. These two had just protected her in their first fight together, afterall, not even allowing a single scratch to happen to her, so Rayne felt she owed them everything she could give in return.

"Just say the words, and I'll sing it as many times as needed, Yuri."

He'll be fine in her care, no matter how reckless he might be. With that thought Chance headed to his room, found a clean outfit and hopped into the shower, taking less than two minutes but he felt quite refreshed afterward. He slipped back to the bedroom after taking one final check on Yuri and Rayne. He smirked silently to himself at his master's behavior earlier today, knowing that soon he too would be undergoing a similar battering and probably the same caring treatment from Rayne, even if he protested.

He tried to use the bed, but kept tossing and turning. In the end he settled himself in on a nice solid part of the floor with one hand gripping the lone blanket he had taken off the bed with him and the other holding a knife beneath the sheet clasped close to his chest. An old habit of his that he knew he would not soon forget, even in the comfort and security of Yuri's house. His sleep was light, as usual, but more restful than any he had come by in a long time.
