There's always something new to learn. I didnt know this one

lol (i kept thinking Vagrant AIs were mere AI's with no purpose)
Vagrant AIs were pretty much AIs that act like humans. The Vagrant AIs in R:1 helped develop Aura, whenever the Vagrant AI experiences something, so does Aura. However, in G.U., since there is no Ultimate AI, I wonder if that factor still applies.

Maybe that's why Ovan had to go and teach everything to Aina, instead of letting programs do the work alone.

Yes, that is a good point. Since Midori and TSN don't collect data for an Ultimate AI, I'm not sure if they can be called Vagrant AI's. Though Morti from the Udeden anime (grooooooooooaaaaan) is called a Vagrant AI and she didn't collect data for Aura, so I'm going to assume they still count as Vagrant AI's.

You know, I'm kinda curious as to what those books are, as there seem to be multiples of them. I know this might be nitpicking, but maybe they're something like "INFO" type books in general? Sorta like, everytime Kite uses a book item he gets a stat increase and what have you.
Hmm.

I wonder what would happen if Aina's stat growth was really awkward.
Something like +1 INT and +90 CHARISMA.

The books are just knowledge. Thats it. The Ryu books were simply a game mechanic introduced in the previous games as a way to unlock bonus content.

Yes, knowledge.
But the wrong knowledge in the wrong minds can be quite disastrous...

Ugh, Morti.
I dunno, though. After all, the anime was so non-canon, so calling Morti a Vagrant AI, I wouldn't really take that into consideration. They'd probably call Hotaru's grunty (when Zefie powers him up outside of the parameters) a Vagrant AI too. 'Cause, you know, they're dumb.
I always just ignore the Dusk anime when it tries and fails to sound smart. The only thing I even liked from the anime was the cute little Rabbit in the Moon thing.

That. Would be awesome.
If they're just storybooks, then I have to wonder where the heck Ovan and Aina got them from. I don't think I ever heard of people being able to access storybooks in The World. And besides, if Ovan wanted to read Aina a story, wouldn't he just download it off of the intarwebz? In which case it wouldn't even look like an actual book because everyone knows when you download a book--
Okay, stfu Annwyn.

Ovan: *Fires up and reads FAQ on Aina growing* Let's see. "Items needed to grow the Ultimate AI." Hmm, I need 20 Story Books, 14 Science Books, and 15 books on... Wait, am I reading this right? Astrophysics? o_O"

Well...actually...Hotaru's Grunty might've been artificially intelligent when it entered it's Longhorn form, what with talking and exhibiting intelligence, but that might've been an elaborate script of Zefie's, I'm not sure. I'm gonna be optimistic and assume the Grunty became an AI to fit with my Technological Singularity idea.
Anyway, I know, I hate the Udeden anime too. My point's still valid, though. a Vagrant AI doesn't nessessarily have to collect data, but it's what they were made for.
