My favorite is Macha, just because she has so much backstory. I like Skeith as well, but I'll be honest, I prefer Innis over Skeith :p

Skeith looks the best because it really is the only one that looks like a person and has a wand.

But that wasn't the original intention of the phases to begin with. They are supposed to reflect their purpose. Not that it affects anyone's opinion and I don't intend on trying to affect anyone's decision with this, so don't flame!

Gorre for sure!
I really think Gorre is awesome even though it probaly isn't the best. But most people prefer Macha and Skeith, they're both really good too but Gorre is still #1 to me.

My favouite was Macha just because i thought Mia was a cool character, plus she taunted Prios which i appreciated

That was funny she turned him orange and I think purple but Skeith is still my favorite.

Skeith of course makes a lot more sense if you see him in his original form (with the cross instead of the Q). Luckily in the American Localization of .hack//XXXX they kept that in.

Wow, a lotta people sure likes Skeith. 
Personally, go for Macha because of how much I know about her history WAY back to Tsukasa. It's kinda touching. Oh, and Macha's CG design is simply beautiful~
