She's been in every incarnation of Link too, some would argue she was even one of the few good things in the manga (along with Saika actually fighting).

I'm just wondering if any of the new characters are in some way linked to aura or maybe for once it will just center on the players.

Its possible that he had a daughter. I mean he was pretty tight with Blackrose there for a while. Maybe they got married and had a kid. But I do agree that it's unlikely

There's kinda a double standard at least as far as marriage goes, though. Girls can marry starting at 16 but guys can't marry until 18. It doesn't seem like something Kite would do at any rate, and Sakuya doesn't seem 8. Sure, it's fiction so anything is possible but this would actually be hands down stupid. Even in Mireille's case, at least her mother was a reasonable age.

I am pretty sure that their ages changed in the novels along with their relationship. Otherwise he had her when he was 12. Or maybe she was adopted...

I already said it was possible, but that doesn't make it less stupid. And Sakuya really doesn't seem like the 12-year-old daughter of Kite, by the usual rules of how .hack characters express their age and by how little she seems to know about anything. And if she was you'd think she might play the game with one of her parents, or something. And with all the returning characters, an arbitrary Kite relationship makes about as much sense as Smith being Piros's second cousin. Not that it made sense when there were fewer returning characters either, Shugo certainly wasn't Kite's daughter.

Hey, we were only making suggestions. I know it's more likely that Sakuya is completely unrelated to Kite, but I did want to point out your logical flaw.

Just because it can happen, doesn't mean it will. That also works in reverse - if something can happen, it can happen.
