Very little happens in the episode, which lasts just over four minutes. Salvador Aihara is very good at getting people to dislike him. He seems to think he's going to save the world (and says so repeatedly). Other people seem to think he's nuts (but haven't said so out loud yet). We haven't yet been told exactly what Doll Syndrome is, but it seems to involve lethargy and unresponsiveness. Salvador starts by going to interview the author of a book linking it to online gaming (a conclusion Salvador questions, since he loves online gaming), but gets the door slammed in his face. He then goes on to visit a school where that author apparently got some of his data, where he interrupts a fourth grade class, flirts with the teacher, and gets a chalkboard eraser thrown at him. At the end of the episode, he finally gets around to telling the teacher who he is and what he's reporting on. She seems rather shocked.
I didn't completely understand everything being spoken, but all I know is Sal is quite the obnoxious one. ONNNNRRINNNNEEEE JAKKKKKKKU!!!1, anyone? :] Any idea if all the episodes will be running for ~four minutes? If so, I'd probably just skip it.

Not sure if he's arrogant so much as outright insane. He's pretty funny though... He shouts out random broken Portuguese when he gets excited. "Senhorita! Samba samba!" He doesn't actually accomplish much besides comic relief though... Maybe in Vol.3 he'll save the day by accident or something though...
Except comedy. Tokuoka's good, but my friends agree Salvadore's better. Other than that, yeah, if a character even tries to explain something really deep, Salvadore will probably cut them off to talk about how he's gonna save the world... But I get the impression, the show's just there for demi-supplemental comic relief...
He is definitely comedic relief. But also at the same time he is showing us what is happening to players in the real world. Such as the Doll Syndrome but to bad there was only around four minutes to Online Jack Episode 1.
I'd say quiet abit happened in all of Rebirth dealing with Doll Syndrom and introduction of charachters.. But thats just my opinion, not to mention some of the things written on the wall...=X
It just feels kinda like it's not going anywhere if we've seen three episodes and still haven't seen the kid's face... ^^; Or something... It's not like he's uncovered that much... Yet, at least...
Actually he speaks Portuguese. Anywho, I think there's much more an emphasis on his own goofiness than any sort of stereotype... Like zany American characters in anime who shout out random English amuse us, I bet he'd just amuse Brazillians...
Zany Americans? I thought that Americans were mostly protrayed as loud obnoxious jerks in anime? Well that is from the most of the anime I have watched. Oh and why only 4 minutes and not 30 like it was in the original?

I just always found them goofy, and a far cry from remotely accurate or offensive stereotypes...
And it's short because you unlock pieces of it as the game goes on...

Volume 4 is out?... What the hell?
I got a little piece of paper from my Vol.1 import telling me Vol.2 is being released in september, and Vol.3 being released in december...
Oatmeal?
.hack//G.U. The World is a mazagine, with like 5 issues out I think. The games are different.
