Tri-Edge a Good Guy??

Post by N3IWVC »

alright this is clearly speculation and im probably just confused but it seems to me tri-edge could be helping the system by data draining players. as we all know haseo was a pk. then he got dd and became a pkk. so is it possible that since the world is overrun with pkers that hes trying to salvage it by clearing them out??

Actually to clear things up, Haseo was actually a PKK before being datadrained. This all started when Shino got data drained by Tri Edge, after that Haseo went on a PK killing spree (I have no idea why). Time after this incident passed and Haseo had gotten information that Tri Edge had been seen around the holy ground (can't remember name AGAIN). After that we all know what happened to our PKK (got his @$$ kicked bad).
I don't really think Tri Edge is actually trying to salvage "The World" though, I think that he thinks that PKing is actually normal. My theory on this comes from one of the GU I watched the had the following written: When "IT" was born the first thing it saw was a "PK". Even though people have pointed out that "IT" could be a mistranslation in the video and it could have been he or even she, I think it actually referred to Tri Edge. Basically what I thought that passage meant was when Tri Edge was born, the first thing it saw was PK killing someone, this made it think that PKing was normal (kind of like a child learning things) and it began to do this itself. As for why Tri Edge attacked Haseo it could have been a random act or a reason that we might have thought or not have thought of yet.

"It" is supposed to be "it". It says the same thing in Japanese at the begining of G.U.+, and it says "It", with the meaning "sore" ("that" or "it" in Japanese). There's a "sore" in CELL that's specified as female, but I haven't read CELL yet so I'm not sure it's related. My working theory is that "it" might be Skeith, as his three eye pattern seems to be in the background of that page of G.U.+, and that perhaps he was born right before Haseo and Ovan met (though took until the games to "awaken").
Regardless, I'm pretty sure it's a given that Haseo becomes a PKK because Tri-Edge is a PK, and he wants to find him.

If you need to find the movies here's the site.

I think the movie that had the "IT" thing is either .Hack//G.U. Trailer (E3 '05) or the one under. As for the order, I don't know, I only have the long videos since they have more things showing.

I would love this twist, if Tri-Edge was either a good guy, or like, a victim of some sort it would be such a cool twist. :D

Kind of like Darth Vader, how he seems like a pretty bad guy at first, but he's really just a slave to the Emperor.

When I first time saw that trailer that sowed "it" in there I always thought that it meaned AIDA, that came on the screen after that saying, and I still do.

Maybe what Tri-Edge first saw was indeed someone PK:ing someone and, for some reason unknown, started to do this himself. Because he thinks this is indeed normal (as Duo602 said before).

Maybe AIDA:s aren't just ordinary AI:s, but they somehow are different in someway. What I think is that ordinary AI:s and AIDA:s learn in a different way of things. Like AIDA:s could learn more the way humans do, or something like that. But I have no idea if this is so, because there is deffinetly going on something bigger than that, I suppouse and there is no way of knowing if the AIDA ways of learning things has anything to do with it.

There's also the matter of the "DA" in "AIDA." It means data/digital anomaly. I read this to mean that an AIDA could be any type of anomaly that exhibits self-awareness. <Anna> appears in the form of purple smoke, while Tri-edge turns into a blue ball of flame when he's not otherwise whooping @$$. I think they're all different, and have different powers. Some of them might have control over an entire field's supply of monsters, while others might merely have the ability to render PCs' clothing invisible, hehe.

ya i dont think that tri-edge is a good guy becasue it makes our favorite charecter KITE!!! the bad guy. (good story plot revaling the history of kite to the new peope in //GU might be a good plot)

also tri-edge dd shino. and knowing haseo.... he likes to hold a grude even if tri-edge comes back into kite and helps fight some kind of Morganna 2.0 or wave2.0 or wutevr is going wrong. i dont think that haseo will trust him but theres always speculation....

Hmm...you may well be into something marthwmaster, and if so ,I wonder if we will see many other kinds of AIDA:s in the game yet to be discovered...:P

And I doun't see how Kite would become a bad guy if Tri-Edge would be a good guy.
They may not have nothing to do with eacother, except of course that they look very much alike. Though Tri-Edge looks really corrupted and such...and now that I think of him looking so corrupted, maybe that could be part of the reason why he is doing whatever he is doing. Something definetly has happened and it might be because of the fire, because something else has happened that we doun't have any clue of, or then Tri-Edge is just new type of AI that is called AIDA.
So many theories so many mysteries. :)

Tri-Edge is making people comatose and more or less undoing everything Kite has done. By stating Tri-Edge is a good guy, you're implying Kite is the bad guy since they have/had opposite agendas.

You can't really say that without knowing Tri-Edge's motive, if any. There are concievable reasons that he'd PK people... That's what makes it a mystery...

Ya but the thing is, he's not JUST PKing people, he's putting them into comas. Which can't really be a GOOD thing. (Proven to be at least somewhat true as Haseo asked the one chick ((Can't remember her name)) of she's heard of the character that kills players and the don't come back.. I.E. Coma! Also, Haseo and Sukubo both were attacked by him and both put into a coma.. All thought this is still speculation and why they're able to still walk around is a different theory entirely)

Also, Haseo was a PKK before getting DD'd. He mostly likely became a DD because of Shino's "Death." He said in one trailer that he became stronger because of "you" This you must only be one person. Shino. The proof could be that Haseo saw Tri-Edge PK Shino.. Which would make Haseo loathe Tri-Edge AND anything to do with him.. THUS he becomes a PKK.. The rest is pretty much history. Haseo gets to lvl badass, he finds Tri-Edge, he gets DD's, and so on and so forth.

The line you're probably thinking of is "I had no choice but to become stronger, thanks to you". This is very similar to a line in the first chapter of G.U.+, spoken to Ovan, which makes the meaning clearer: "I had no choice but to become stronger, because you and Shino vanished."

Back to the main topic, there just might be something to the theory that TriEdge's purpose is not entirely malevolent. In chapter 1 of CELL, in the same scene where the mysterious "she" is born into The World, TriEdge is shown PKing a character whose description is rather odd. In chapter 3, another character described very similarly has been somehow corrupted and is a danger to characters and game data around him. How significant this is is unclear at this time.

If he was just PKing people there'd be no problem. That's the great thing about games like The World: you can kill people without feeling guilty about it. But hurting people in the real world, Tri-edge turns an otherwise innocent act into an evil one.

I don't know if this has been discussed in another topic or something but why is it that when Tri Edge PKs someone they go into a coma, and when any other PK or PKK does it only the character gone and not the person. I'm meaning to imply why PKs don't have that power but why Tri Edge can do it.
