Very few fields have been shown. The ones that have include Arche Köln (the Great Waterfall) and Grima Löwe (the Cathedral).
Only two Root Towns are confirmed so far. There is Mac Anu, the Eternal Ancient City, which is almost unrecognisable as being related to the original Mac Anu. The other is Lumina Cross, the Omega Server root town, home of the Arena. It is all but confirmed in .hack//G.U. The World 3 that Fort Auf, Dun Loireag, Carmina Gadelica, and Lia Fail are gone.

Replaced entirely is more likely. The "backstory" mythology of The World R:2 features a battle of Men against Gods, in which four of the Five Cities are destroyed in various ways. (For instance, the gods cast Fort Auf down from the sky, crushing Dun Loireag in the process.)Grey wrote:We can only assume that all other root towns will be upgraded/rebuilt in some way, correct? Judging by what has been done so far.

No new towns were mentioned in the myth, not even Lumina Cross if I remember correctly. This is a classic case of "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence".Surge wrote:so does that mean that the two root towns shown will be the only root towns in the game..or will those the only ones that are some what likw the old root towns in the original world. was there anything in the "backstory" of there replacement towns?

The town with the arena seem to take it's place and I thought from what I saw it looks even better then Carmina Gadelica. I wounder if the time of day will efeect the day time in the root towns like being night here it would be night..or if it went by japanese time day. I wanted to see that in the first games, but I sought they did it.
