Atoli? Shino?

I just find it hard to accept such far-fetched theories without something that remotely resembles proof. They don't look THAT much alike. And I mean, for crying out loud, it's an online game, they're only avatars, you're bound to run into a clone of yourself in a game like that.

Though that would normally be the case I just find it... odd, that Atoli tells Sakaki that her appearance would surprise Haseo.

Wasn't The World designed to make sure no two players have the same avatar and name? Was this changed in :R2?

There's never been anything preventing two PCs from having the same appearance. Think about it. Twenty million players. Six (or seven or ten) classes. Two genders. A handful of basic designs for each class and gender. Even a generous estimate puts it at only a few hundred designs. After that, it's down to variations in color and paint design. With tens or hundreds of thousands of players per design, you're going to have duplicates.

As always, every name is unique.

I think you may be a bit confused. In GU+, It is Sakaki who says that Haseo might be surprised to recognize the character scheme.

In my opinion, I think Haseo was supposed to be suprised to see Atoli's face because he saw her earlier when he killed the pks, and was suprised then.

That one might be a translation/adaptation issue. If you can tell me where it said that, I can check on the accuracy.

Its like Tsukassa-Elk, Subaru-her clone, Mimeru-Black Rose, Sora-Moon Stone, & Bear-Oraca, They all have same charater models. Even several charater model have both gender versions, such as Tsukassa/Elk-Hotaru, & Reki-Magi. So Atoli & Shino probably have the same Charater Models.
