Roots episode 2 confusion?O_o(Spoilers)

Post by Momiji »

I just saw episode two and Im confused??

I see no point to this series. In .Hack sign we had Tsukasa a player unable to log out and the search for "The Key of the Twilight" an illigal item. In Legend of e had two players with avatars of the ".Hackers" and Rena who again couldn't log out.

Yet here in Roots we have a "New" The World, while they've yet to explain what happened to the old one we all know what happened. There was a fire. Thus comes my first confusion.

In the second episode they talk about the "Twilight Brigade" and their goal to find the item "Key of the Twilight". Which makes no sense, if CC Corp was burned how could the item still live? Wasn't the game started from scratch once more?

Also our "hero" Haseo has nothing, he is a newb player that has a weak avatar. Unlike in the games GU Haseo here had no conection toTri Edge (There isn't even a mention of him). Yet both the "Twilight Brigade" and "TaN" guilds are after Haseo for no good reason.

If you don't get what Im saying Im asking "What's the plot to Roots?" Im waiting to see episode 3 (Which is already out) tosee if anyhting is explained.

While I see no plot or connection to anything, and there seems to be no conetcion to any one of the curses, epitaph or ("our beloved") Aura, Roots still has a avey "grown up" feel to it. It is way darker than others. But I still want to know what is its point in "The World"

And why in the hell is ovan and Shino so interested in a newb character with no conection to anything, and the "Key of the Twilight". Unlike in Sign were the key was wanted for "ultimate power", "rarenes", "logging out", and/or to aweaken Aura, Ovan (leader of the guil) has no purpose for it. After all wasnt he the one that destoryed like a millionplayers or something with his left arm??

Lost your mind? Roots is the back story to Haseo, the reason it seems their interested in him is because he has great potential, even the PKer's he goes up against says it. The story is, what makes an ordinary player like Haseo, transform into the dread "Terror of Death"? That's the point ot the series.

This will no doubt be at least a minor plot point which will be revealed in the course of the anime and/or the games.
In the second episode they talk about the "Twilight Brigade" and their goal to find the item "Key of the Twilight". Which makes no sense, if CC Corp was burned how could the item still live? Wasn't the game started from scratch once more?
From what little we know so far, The World was damaged, but not destroyed. R:2 was made by combining what was left with what would have been another game. Harald's System, the core of The World, seems to be more or less intact.
Ovan is interested in him for reasons of his own, which have yet to be revealed. (So far, he just keeps talking in plant metaphors.) TaN is interested in him because Ovan is interested in him. In episode 3, you'll see a whole lot more people interested in him, again thanks to Ovan (manipulative bastard that he is...).
If you don't get what Im saying Im asking "What's the plot to Roots?" Im waiting to see episode 3 (Which is already out) tosee if anyhting is explained.
More questions than answers in episode 3, but that's only to be expected so early in a .hack series.
While I see no plot or connection to anything, and there seems to be no conetcion to any one of the curses, epitaph or ("our beloved") Aura, Roots still has a avey "grown up" feel to it. It is way darker than others. But I still want to know what is its point in "The World"
How long did it take for the "point" of SIGN to become clear?
And why in the hell is ovan and Shino so interested in a newb character with no conection to anything, and the "Key of the Twilight".
That is the question. It should be at least partway answered by the end of the anime.
Unlike in Sign were the key was wanted for "ultimate power", "rarenes", "logging out", and/or to aweaken Aura, Ovan (leader of the guil) has no purpose for it. After all wasnt he the one that destoryed like a millionplayers or something with his left arm??
That's a story about his arm I haven't heard before. We don't yet know why Ovan wants the Key of the Twilight, or what he believes it is. (I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, though, to find that he knows exactly what it is.)

"You can decide it doesn't exist, or search for it because it might. Which way is the game more fun?"

Kinda like Shinsou said, how long did it take before //SIGN actually started getting interesting? Obviously, the first few episodes of the series will pose more questions that'll, presumably, be answered in the climax. Maybe wait 10 or so episodes before saying there's "no point" to the series.

The fact that the first few episodes raise questions is what makes it interesting.

 Ok so I might have gotten a tad ahead of myself.

I guess your right. It did take a while for Signs plot to be se in motion.

And I didn't know Roots was the back story to Haseo O_o I thought it was like Legend. You know manga and anime while alike at first different plots.

Well I guess I'll wait :D 'sides its not like Im going to stop watching it just cause I think it has not plot to it. Anywho thanks for clearing things out ;)
