Character Personalities

Besides Haseo being hot-headed [as said somewhere on the dothackers site], what do we know about the GU characters' personalities?

from what i can gather

atoli is the nice, caring individual who wouldn't harm a fly
kuhn is simmilar except that he is confident and outgoing
yata is probably like the strict rule kind of person, who only bend's the rule's if it has to be done
sakubo is split-one is nice and the other is angery and wanting to go find endrance
endrance is probably a very carefree but negative person(like envy from FMA)
ovan is like the father figure, or at least the big brother who has to watch over everyone(in this case for his own reasons)

i would class haseo as the very caring, but will hide his feeling's kind of person. very protective. i wouldn't go as far as hot headed.

isn't there something like this on the main page?

Wasn't descriptive enough, and wasn't very much more than one thing (i.e. the Haseo being hot-headed thing). Wanted more in depth stuff.

Now dont falme me for putting this but... i think haseo could very possibly be like cloud or squall from ff7 and 8... Cloud usually conceals his feelings spoiler for ff7 ahead: when aeris dies, he doesnt even cry... If my girlfriend died before my eyes i would cry .... a lot... and hes kinda like squall because hes kinda a hot head and as im figuring determined, adn will do anything for those he cares for... so in a way, i think cloud and squall(or leon or all you kh2 players) relate to haseo in more than one way...

well you can see that Haseo have a diferent personalitie in .Hack//Roots, and another personalitie in .Hack//G.U, it is like the absent of Ovan and Shino affected him.

Hey, I noticed that too. He seems kind of crazy in G.U., as though something important was taken from him that made him snap.

I would say that something important taken from him causing him to snap was Shino

Haseo didn't enjoy The World R:2 when he first joined, he was only happy when he became a part of the Twilight Brigade. He is considered 'wierd' on the outside and it was when he became a member of the Twilight Brigade that he felt he truly belonged. When it was disbanded by Ovan, when all the members disappeared, he continued to play but knew he had to become strong in order to survive on his own.

It appears to us that he did not know why Shino disappeared and he may have felt she didn't care for him anymore, now that the Twilight Brigade was no more. He felt betrayed, felt that if he allowed anyone else to be his friend then they would disappear like Ovan and Shino. The fact that he was bullied by PKs obviously left a residue of hatred and he took his revenge by becoming a PKK.

Eventually, this act of vengeance became an obsession, it appears to me that Haseo was bullied outside the game where he was weak, and he took out his anger on the PKs within the game where he was strong.

At least, that's how I view his change in attitude.

I thought Haseo became an obsessive PKK because Shino was sort of taken out by a PK (well in one of the Trailers they called Triblade a PK that kill player and don't let them return or something right?). Then as revenge Haseo killed all PKs.

I actually didn't see the trailer you're talking about. I just kind of guessed that that was the case.

I have seen the trailers and they have led me to believe that early on Haseo suffered a good deal of abuse at the hands of PKs, hence him becoming a very powerful PKK. But what really pisses him off is when his friend Shino is sent into a coma by the mysterious PK known as Tri-Edge. A couple of the trailers show a scene where Tri-Edge appears in front of Haseo and he totally goes ballistic, not that it does him much good.

Yeah that is the signature scene of the trailers. An unfathomable amount of ass-kicking is done by the hands of Haseo, but in the end all of that is denied by Tri-edge: and with only one hand, no less.

I wonder if Tri-edge ever speaks. That could give us a better clue as to his intentions. I think there's a chance (albeit a small one) that he might become an ally later on, but him and Haseo have definitely gotten off to a rocky start...

Naa, I doubt Tri-Edge is going to be on Haseo's side. I mean, think about it realistically. Would YOU want to team up with someone who DD'd your best friend/lover/etc? Espically if you're as insane as Haseo? I think not. Also, Tri-Edge doesn't strike me as the 'buddy-buddy' type. In fact, I think he's just an infected program. (Watch the 1st trailor again, when Tri-Edge and Haseo fight. Watch when he blocks Haseo's twin blade attacks.. Notice Tri's body is slowly glowing in green hexagons? .. Seem fimilar..? ((Hint: Monters you fought as Kite and had to DD to beat =p)) )

I'm trying hard not to use "Good side" or "Bad side" Yet, because, honestly, we don't know how's good and who's bad, really. But I digress, I believe Tri-Edge will be one of Haseo's antagonists. As I'm on the subject, I might as well say I think Ovan will also be an antagonist. I wouldn't be the first time we've seen a type of plot that goes "Become friends with very powerful leader only to see the leader turn out to be evil, and you must defeat him"

So yeah, I believe some of the Infinity 8 won't have the same 'good intentions' as Haseo.. Just because they have this power of the Phases doesn't mean they're automatically a super fun happy team.. Right?

Well, Haseo already doesn't like Yata and Pai, and that isn't even half of the members of the 8...so who knows who else he won't care much for. Safe to say he probably won't like Endrance. Yeah, so it is already known that their not the poster team for 'happy'.
