OMG... heres the real reason...
if youve gotten to the point where you need a large number of virus cores for various levels in sigma server, you will notice that many of them are A through H cores. those arent exactly easy to get a hold of if you character is like level 50 or higher. so you use the negative stat weapons to lower your stats which will allow you to protect break the really weak creatures without killing them.
...so if you didnt think ahead and stock up on virus cores in the first 3 games, these will be your best friends soon.
Btw, the rusty nails rare sells for only 50 and im pretty sure the rest of them sell for close to that
so Sakarot, hold on to those...

Oblivion Knight is correct. Nil & Despair is awesome for protect breaking low level enemies. Every enemy, EVEN THE GOBLIN, it'll take away ONE HP per hit, allowing you to Protect break whatever, no matter how high a level you are. Hell, I think all the other negative weapons would kill those in one hit.
Of course, other ones that are less negative like the Kokoro, Rusty Nails, and Gemeni Soul would kill those in one hit by the time you're at Quarantine, but those are for earlier time's sake.
Also, keep in mind that some low level enemies like the Water Witch only protect break by magic. For those you'll have to bring a wavemaster with one of the Negative wands. Those are the Shy Staff (Found on Skull Devilgon data bugs which are in Sigma Abrasive False Tragedy, the secret Bear place), and the Wand Wannabe (Found on the Death Implant data bugs in Hidden Darkside Holy Ground, but they're as deep as B11 so make SURE you get one when you go there and if you missed it... well, too bad).

Well, as it is, twin blades happen to have four of those weapons (because of Kite being one, and there is one in each volume, -10, -20, -30, -50) while other classes have two (one received in Outbreak, and one in Quarantine. -30 and -50). Now, I suppose you could sell them. However, like I mentioned above, they could be good for having your allies help protect break something. As some point the Nil&Despair may be your only option to protect break, even though it only takes 1 HP per hit and could take forever, so you could use some help. All the other -50 weapons like the Junk Sword or Benevolence do 1 HP damage as well, so you don't have to worry about them killing it. Aside from that, they could raise affection.
Of course, Nil&Despair's Saber Dance could be of some use if it's taking forever, but it might kill so be on guard... unlikely though.
However, ALL of the negative weapons (except Kite's special -10 and -20 ones which no other class has, the Rusty Nails and Gemini Soul) are found on data bug enemies, so you could pretty much get as many as you want and it won't make a big deal if you sell them. Except, of course, like I mentioned above, the ones found very deep in Hidden Darkside Holy Ground which you probably would not want to come back for, like the Wand Wannabe on the Death Implant Data Bugs which aren't until as deep as B11. Bloodless (the -50 spear) also comes to mind, found on Aurora Feather Data Bugs in HDHG, but I think you start seeing them on B6.
But the rest are pretty simple to get, although they are all found on Data Bug monsters which appear in only one location.
The Wand Wannabe is a must save and not sell, unless you have more than you plan to give out after your trip through Darkside, then by all means sell the rest.

With "Yeah Piros!" being the most negative Axe (dealing one damage every hit) and "Piros' Diary" being the only book that LOWERS a stat rather than raise, and possibly a few more references... I think it's safe to say that Piros is an unlucky person and bad stuff happens when he's around. Or just to him.
Possible things are...
-He's the whipping boy of the creators for some comedy factor
-Given how he's a CC corp worker designing graphics, and he uses his gimmick character in The World to drive other players insane for fun, he could have had CC create those items named after him after he made his legacy there so he could mess with players even more and add more to his character.
