Are previous characters connected to G.U?
WEll the story is that G.U. has been rebuilt. If you think about it, if the game was rebuilt than who would manage it? An example would be Balmung. If he had an authoritave character before what makes you think he isnt playing it under another alias.

Sounds like Speculation and Theories to me.Count of Solitaire wrote:If he had an authoritave character before what makes you think he isnt playing it under another alias.

It's been confirmed that none of the previous characters will be making a return aside from important figures like the Phases, Aura, and other AI's. This is mainly because that the new version of the World has new classes and such, so characters can't be ported over. This caused almost two thirds of the gaming community to quit playing out of frustration.

Even so they can begin again like they did before because it is their obligation to begin again. If you played a game and it had a sequeal you would buy it even if you cant transfer your data. Ill refer to Balmung again.
He had authority so it is obligation to join again.
The previous players wouldnt just dissappear forever. I still think they play this version of the game.

You dont have any obligation to keep playing something that you dont want to. Balmung could have started again because of his love for The World.Count of Solitaire wrote:Even so they can begin again like they did before because it is their obligation to begin again. Take Everquest 2. I didnt buy it and play it, despite being a hardcore everquest player. Why? Becuase the fact remained that if i did make that choice. Hundreds upon hundreds of hours i worked to build my character would have added up to absolutely nothing by just quitting and starting over. I didnt feel an obligation to buy something that wasnt needed in the first place.

your right about them being friend's on the outside worldAuraTwilight wrote:Plus almost all the .hackers are good friends in the real world at this point, and no longer need the World to get together, so they have no incentive to protect it.
BUT i would think that given all the thing's which has happened to them because of the world/morganna/aura/insert name here that they would have just a 'little' incentive to come back
