The tree in the GU trailer

Post by Evel The Angel of Despair »

I'm sorry I really didn't know where to put this if its in the wrong place again I'm sorry

The tree in the trailer where Kuhn appears it reminds me of a part in the Epitaph of twilight

Yet to return, the shadowed one.
Who quests for the Twilight Dragon
Rumbles the Dark Hearth,
And Helba, Queen of the Dark, has raised finally her army.
Apeiron, King of Light, beckons... At the base of the rainbow they meet.
Against the abominable "Wave," together they fight.
Alba's lake boils.
Light's great tree doth fall.
Power - all now to droplets turned in the temple of Arche Koeln.
Returns to nothing, this world of shadowless ones.
Never to return, the shadowless one.
Who quests for the Twilight Dragon.

I know I'm classed as a nood but I was just wondering about it.

I have posted about the very same tree you mentioned elsewhere, we also see Endrance beside a glowing tree.

However, we have no information regarding the significance of this. It is still possible that the tree is of no importance and is just attractive scenery.

However, with cutscenes involving two Phases being beside a glowing tree, I doubt it. I believe that this tree is of some importance to certain characters, particularly Endrance, as he is pictured sitting at the base of the tree in one of the magazine scans.

I don't think the tree has any significance beyond a sentimental one. The World has had odder features that were perfectly natural to the game's decore, like eyes in the sky and skyscraper skeletons and castles made of flesh.

I believe the floating eyes are a reference to Morganna's presense. A subtle reminder of her omnipresence of the world. It was freaky and a little erie exploring a snow filled region then all of a sudden you look up and see this giant eye watching you.

As for the tree, it seems very bright so I doubt it holds less than sentimental value. The strong and flirtatious man who wishes for peace in The World. He seems cheerful and lighthearted, but his determination to preserve peace in The World is stronger than anyone's. That might explain Kuhn. Endrance on the other hand might be harder to analyze.

endrance is cool! and this is why

and the tree, it would be safe to assume it was in a dungeon and that it might be edrnace's fav. place. why kuhn is there i haven't got a clue.

have a look at umbra's idea which i think is right. endrance was there, haseo show's up and is about to be owned, kuhn show's up and endrance flee's.

again no clue as to why.

 That is, of course, assuming that one of the Infinity Eight will be a PK.

If one of them is a PK, as logic dictates, then Endrance seems the most likely candidate. We already know Haseo is a PKK, Atoli is a pacifist, Kuhn used to assist newbies, while Yata and Pai are Sys-Admins. We are unsure of Ovan's role, but his rescue of Haseo makes me feel that he could never be a PK.

Out of the remaining two, Sakubo and Endrance, the one that seems most likely to actively PK is Endrance.

Because of the appearence of Endrance and a newbie-assistant like Kuhn in the same area, I felt that it was logical for both to appear there at the same point in time.

Nobody thinks that the tree is part of the Lunar Tree guild's @home area? It glows like a full moon and you all didn't noticed that? :?

Well, there are a number of major facts that have me thinking that this tree couldn't possibly be part of Lunar Tree's @home.

Firstly, both Endrance and Kuhn appear there. Endrance appears to be a loner without any Guild, he fights to make himself stronger rather than any Guild stronger.

Kuhn is without a Guild, but aside from that, he was once a very loyal member of Canard, it seems unlikely that he would become a member of Lunar Tree.

It's not impossible, but it seems quite unlikely in my opinion.
