New Classes!
In the original games anyone could heal. Are you saying this is not the case with the new games? Abilities are still based on gear right? Class determines weapons, gear limitations, HP and SP in the new game?milliennium_fox wrote:There isn't a "healer" class. It's possible that the Harvest class could have healing abilities though.
Also, Umbra's class list is correct.
We have yet to find out, it may be the case that Harvest specialise in supportive magic and are, therefore, given better abilities and statistics to do so. If this is true, then there shouldn't be any reason against other classes using simpler healing spells.Alloisus wrote:In the original games anyone could heal. I believe abilities will be based on gear. And, yes, I also believe the Classes determine each character's limits.

n.
1. A fervent, sometimes militant supporter or proponent of a party, cause, faction, person, or idea.
2. A member of an organized body of fighters who attack or harass an enemy, especially within occupied territory; a guerrilla.
3. A weapon having a blade with lateral projections mounted on the end of a long shaft, used chiefly in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Sort of makes sense as a Long Arm-like class.
I really would like to know any other differences between the Danse Macabre and Twin Sword class; they seem kind of similar.

That's what I thought at first...Light Kagutsuchi wrote:I really would like to know any other differences between the Danse Macabre and Twin Sword class; they seem kind of similar.
Their fighting style? The general shape of their weapons? They could be variations...in the same way Warlocks and Harvests are variations on the Wavemaster class.
I want to know this too.Light Kagutsuchi wrote:I really would like to know any other differences between the Danse Macabre and Twin Sword class; they seem kind of similar.
So, maybe Twin Sword is a more Twin Blade-like class while Danse Macabre uses more object-like weapons (i.e. fans)?
Maybe Danse Macabre is an upgrade of Twin Sword (or the other way around) like Werewolf was to Kickboxer?

What I'd really like to see are pictures of basic characters from each class. Are there any in the magazine? And if so, is it possible that we could see them soon?Shinsou Wotan wrote:My next translation project (which I'll start on after I finish reading CELL) will be the class descriptions. They should resolve a few things.
Information is all well and good, but, as they say, a picture speaks a thousand words.

Translations: Class Description Page
Here are the contents of the page describing the classes in GU. There is no description of Partisan; the only place it has been mentioned is as the class of one character in .hack//GnU, who has not yet been shown fighting.
------------
Multiweapon
A special class which uses multiple weapons, and various skills. This is the class Haseo has chosen.
Twin Sword
Two-handed fighters who use a pair of short blades. The power of each hit is low, but the twin blades make this class good at rapid consecutive attacks.
Steam Gunner
A class which uses weapons which combine gun and sword. Seems to be a sort of multi-type fighter who can handle both close-range and long-range combat.
Blade
A class which specializes in the use of a slim, sharp sword. Focusing more on technique than on power, one imagines that their sword skills can be quite splendid.
Warlock
Spellcasters who specialize in offensive magic. Though lacking in physical strength, their powerful magic is a great asset in battle.
Brandish
Preferring massive swords, these fighters can take down an enemy in a single devastating hit. Due to the power of each hit, the attack rate is low.
Grappler
Extreme close-range fighters who use their own fists as weapons. They move lightly, and are able to use a variety of fighting techniques.
Harvest
The opposite of Warlocks, these spellcasters specialize in healing magic. They provide support in combat, and assist their companions.
Danse Macabre
A strange class which uses weapons which resemble fans. One imagines them using a dancelike fighting style, slicing with the blades on their fans.
Update function available only to Multiweapon users
Multiweapons have the ability to use 2 or 3 varieties of weapon which they select while creating their character. However, they can't use them all from the beginning. At first, these abilities are sealed. By completing exclusive quests, these abilities are released, and the character's appearance changes. This is the Multiweapon's "Job Extend" ability. ((Translator's note: I predict that in the English release of the game, the ability will be called something along the lines of "Class Extension".))
Captions:
Haseo, First Form:
In Haseo's case, he chose twin swords as the weapon for his first form. There is nothing particularly unusual about his appearance.
Haseo, Third Form
The weapon he chose for his third form is a large scythe. His appearance is suitable for one called "The Terror of Death".
Haseo Was Once A High-Level Multiweapon
Once, Haseo was a high-level Multiweapon who had achieved his third form, but when he was data drained, he was returned to beginner status.

In answer to your questions:
1) Yes, Partisans use weapons reminiscent of the Long Arm class.
2) Tri-Edge has no confirmed class, if he was given one, I'd say he resembles a Twin Sword.
3) Haseo's second form would be the Chain-Sword form, which I believe is either Blade or Brandish.
This is all very useful information. So now we've had it confirmed, Danse Macabre are indeed warriors who fight with fans! ^_^ That sounds kinda cool, don't you think?

Very nice information, we finally know exactly how the Multiweapon class is limited and indeed it does seem like a pain to make very powerful. Haseo's armor is also probably just armor; I was right.
I'd reckon Haseo's second class is Brandish, those chainsaw swords seem a little unwieldy.
I doubt that Tri Edge even has a class; he seems like a holdout from the old version of The World.
Danse Macabre fighting with fans is pretty cool. At least that mystery is solved.
