Shadow of the collosus (slightly spoils)
Has anyone else ever played this game? When i first got my ps2, i got it from my friend, and i got a game called ico (wich no one has heard of either.) i played it and loved it to death, i still play it. So i hear that scea has another ico type game coming out, and i lose it. i wait and wait, then finally, shadow of the collosus. This game blew me away. Imagine scaleing everst, then taking your cursed blade, and jamming it into the back of its spine, then you get a slight idea of what the games about. The whole game revolves around the mane charecter, who is only refered to as the wanderer and his horse argo. Its a love story, threw and threw. this guy is destroying these sixteen ancient creatures (and subsequently himself.) in order to revive his one true love. He isnt to overly athletic (i mean, i bet even I coul dbeat him in a foot race) and hes isnt a master swords man, but thats whats so great about him, he is this average teen, killing these ancient beasts all in the name of love (yes im a sucker for a love story). And the collusi (is that what the plural is?) god, they are beautifull, and they are all one giant puzzel... yeah i could rant on for hours, but i want some feedback, has anyone played it? what did you think?
Was my most anticipated game at the time of its release. It was everything I hoped it would be, and I secluded myself to play and finish the main story in, roughly, eleven hours. I've been working on the time trials here and there, but the main story, like Ico, was absolutely astounding. Definitely game of the year, boasting one of the most unique concepts in gaming history.

I've never played it. I find it interesting how well people are raving about it, even though the general concept and focus of the game is quite simple and bare-bones. You just go from one end of the globe to the other, hunting down and slaying a ginormous beast untill you head off to the next one.
Mind you, I'm in no way putting this game down. Not at all. I feel it's deffinitely deserving of props for it's spectacular graphics and imaginitive design. I just find it interesting that in a world where gamers are always trying to find something new, this game has captivated them with a concept/play mechanic that's so simple......

It may sound simple but its not. I got my butt kicked plenty of times espicially that dang bird one. You have to keep balance and find the weak points. Quite challenging sometimes actually. The Partisan wrote:I've never played it. It does sound simple on paper, but each colossus is unique and requires a different approach making for some thrilling moments. The Partisan wrote:I've never played it. This game is definatly the best game ive ever played. story line is very good, and i really like how the creater does his games, like ico, there isnt a whole lot you know, and even in the end you still know very little, but lets you think about it.
and if youve never played ico before this one i would really recommend it because it makes the end more interesting.
