Slightly more on-topic: they're still remixin' Bal's tunes. ^^ That doesn't mean he's not gone forever, but he seems to still have a place in their hearts, so I wouldn't count on it

Maybe Ovan didn't do it on accident. I mean, how else would he have gotten his power to rebirth? from whom? I doubt for a fact it's Aura..but maybe there's a hidden AI wanting to continue Morganna's rule our something. Maybe, Ovan wanted to see if Haseo could be Tri-Edge, and if not, then Haseo would become the true 'Terror of Death' like Skieth!! kind of like a win win situation for ovan.Snake wrote:AuraTwilight wrote:Ovan's status as the Rebirth being responsible for Tri-Edge (A rebirth of Kite.) Could be. Unless it just happens.
Well, the reason I doubt you get them in the first game is that there are three games, each supposed to be more "self-contained" than before, but all of them revolving around those eight characters. If you get them all in Saitan, that'll just be ridiculous... From the trailer, the "juicy bits" of this game seem to focus on Haseo and Pai. Though other characters certainly appear, I can't really imagine Haseo or Pai's stories being told from a different perspective, while this is totally easy to imagine for all the "mysterious" characters... Might be wrong, it's just a theory, but I think the other characters will remain mysterious until the story is told from their perspectives (possibly even hopping back in the timeline).Umbra wrote:What makes you think we won't have those three in our party? What I meant was that he's the one with the most information in the confirmed storyline. Yata does seem very well informed and Endrance does show obvious signs of knowledge outside the ordinary but we haven't heard from them yet.
But I'd better get those three at some point or there'll be hell to pay...
Edit: That music seems to be a christmas 'present' from the .Hack team, just the theme tune of a favourite character remixed into a christmas tune. So, yah, just before anyone jumps to conclusions of Balmung's presence in The World.
Because creating a spontanious AI is just SO easy to do -_-; His power of rebirth might not even be a power. It could just be symbolism that he earned by setting Tri-Edge free or whatever. As for AI's continuing Morganna's role, yea, that's what Aura's been doing. This "Being Tri-Edge" and "True Terror of Death" stuff you seemed to have pulled out of your behind.Maybe Ovan didn't do it on accident. Well, of course we'll have other characters. These eight are just the most important. So all three games revolve around the eight Infinity Characters? Are you sure there won't be new characters when they come around?
This game is bigger than the four games and you had a pile of allies in those four, who's to say you won't get them in the game? they'd have to be VERY powerful to be worth the effort.
I don't feel that they will be out of Haseo's league, I mean, Kite played alongside the legendary Balmung of the Azure Sky in the third game.Kuukai wrote:I mean, I might be wrong, but the trailer gave me that impression. It's like, "These are the characters!" and then "These are the game titles!"
And the thing is, all of your allies in the original games were around your level or lower when you got them. Even Balmung and Orca didn't have Data Drain... But in this game, Endrance has weird floating balls of oblivion... Seems kinda out of your league. Also, without powerful NPCs like Helba and Lios, a lot of the advances in the plot of the first four games wouldn't have happened, so I think some of the 8 characters will be filling those roles, since Triedge doesn't talk much... We'll see, I guess...
Wha? No! >_<Cless wrote:Sweet so that means A-20 will make an surprise visit.
Yata is a mysterious guildleader who's been watching Haseo and knows things he hasn't even heard of. Endrance has inexplicable powers and calls you weak and pathetic. It just seems unlikely you'll get them in the first game.Umbra wrote:But Kite did have strange powers, something Haseo appears to be lacking...
As for information, Wiseman knew a lot about the incident, so its not unheard of for well-informed players to join your party.
Helba and Lios are too powerful to join your party, both have powers that elevate them to an almost god-like status in The World. Both of them had good reasons for not assisting directly, such as Helba's need to maintain the Net Slum and Lios' administrative duties.
Yata appears to be a Wiseman sort of character, very well informed and capable of assisting you within the game more directly. Ovan will probably be like Balmung, befriending Haseo through their rivalry. Endrance will probably act like Mia, helping you when its in his/her best interests.
I think the independant storyline means that we'll be playing as Haseo, but in a different story. So the second one may not be about Tri-Edge, but some other incident within The World R:2.
When was that comfirmed? Like, when did they specifically say old character will play no part in the story?Umbra wrote:Wha? No! >_<Cless wrote:Sweet so that means A-20 will make an surprise visit.
There has been no confirmation of characters 'visiting' during the game. However, it has been confirmed that they pley no part in the story.
Add to that the complete re-creation of The World and chances of such an event happening seem very slim.
I understand that, in fact I agree with you, it does seem unlikely that you'll get them in Resurrection. But in the scheme of things, I don't doubt that you will ally with them.Kuukai wrote:Yata is a mysterious guildleader who's been watching Haseo and knows things he hasn't even heard of. They don't specifically say that, but in an interview, wasn't it confirmed that these characters are entirely new and have no direct connection to the past .Hack stories?Kuukai wrote:When was that comfirmed? Like, when did they specifically say old character will play no part in the story?
