Someone had pointed out a really interesting thought, could Tri-Edge be really evil?

I think that he is.I mean he data drained Haseo and he's the good guy!

I can't really say... I don't think anyone else can either...

It's like asking if cats are happy little fairy-type creatures who love all of everything in the history of existence, or are really horrible, demonic beings of darkness sent here to enslave man and all his creations...

I'm going with Crim's theory. We don't know much about G.U. or Tri-Edge yet so we really have no right to convict him of being a evil being or a good guy. Sure we can make theories and beliefs about him being good or bad but all we have really is the trailer to go from...

.hack doesn't have clearcut definitions of good and evil anyway. Who's to say Aura was really better than Morganna? There's no universal set of ethics.

Morganna's ultimate goal was 'life'. People falling into a comatose state, loosing conciousness with temporary memory loss, or expanding beyond the game world were only side effects. When she couldn't reach her goal she started to question what death is and attempts to bring death to "The World".

I think good and evil are nonexistant within dot hack. There is only perspective. You will hear different stories, wether you ask Herold, BlackRose, Tsukasa, Bith the Black, Tokuoka, Alberio, Balmung, Sora, Aura(she loves everyone!), or even Morganna herself, you will hear different points of view from everyone.

No one is out to destroy the world or conquer it. It is the story of the evolution of a mega popular MMORPG known as "The World." As for ShadowKite(Tri-edge) being good or evil, its really anyone's guess. Though, I'm willing to bet on him causing more harm than good.

You may be right there, though I think she was still a data fragment from the games. Oh well...

In any case there is no good or evil in dot hack. Only perspective. I hope that formula doesn't change with .hack//gu because good and evil are personified in so many other games *cough*FinalFantasy*cough*.

Oh hey Final Fantasy doesn't have a exactly evil person or a exactly good person...I mean all the baddies. They're just CRAZY. That isn't evil just crazy... and others just have had bad expieriences making them crazy or in a way evil. But deep down they're good...or just realllllly crazy.

It would be funny if he ended up becoming good or some "misunderstood" AI who sacrifices himself in order to save The World.
