I too have no plans to buy any of the new consoles for another year or so. The PS3 is supposedly going to be released in the spring of 2006 (maybe), and the Revolution also will not be released until the spring of 2006. So, I would rather wait and see how the consoles are when they are released, rather than began to plan on buying any of them. However, right now I am leaning towards purchasing the PS3, and maybe the Revolution. But as I said, I am not going to seriously consider buying any of the new consoles until they have come out and I have had a chance to try them all out, and to check out the reviews.

I'm deffinitely on board for the PS3. Wherever the Final Fantasy series goes, so do I. As for the Revolution, I'll think I'll step back and watch the public's reaction from the sidelines. It's a pretty new concept so it'll be interesting to see how the public reacts. And yes, the "japanese nunchucks" are gonna' be interesting to get used to.
I usually wait to buy a console until I know for sure that there's a game I want to buy for it. I don't wanna' invest in something that doesn't have any games I like. (wish that was the case for my PSP *D'OH*

yeah I mostly play the PS2 or PC so I think I would just want to get a PS3 IF it has good games going on it, like the FF series or Kingdom hearts, or a sequel or something to Legend of Dragoon or Dothack, the thing about the PS2/3/4/whatever is it has too many great franchises, that will probly go down as some of the best ever, and I wouldent want to miss it by playing the Revolution and that controller, or the Xbox 360 that pretty much looks no better than the PS2 (in my oppinion)

I agree. Go Revolution!!!
The controller is the only sin against game-kind they've commited. Otherwise, it's the Holy Grail of gamers. It plays everything. Every game in Nintendo history plus the Revolution games. It even has a micro Gamecube built in complete with disc compartment, 4 controller slots (be sure to keep your Wavebird, Nintendoers) , and even Memory card slots (save them too).
On top of all that, all this technology is crammed into a console shorter (lengthwise) than the anorexic PS2 they recently came out with (trust me, I have it), and just slightly thicker.

Wow! I didn't know there were other Nintendo fans out there. I thought I was the only one - and I've been hiding it for so long. Everyone always bad-mouths Nintendo and its games because they aren't as "cool" or "popular" as what the angsty PS2 and XBOX have to offer. Nintendo gamers have to go into hiding to avoid ridicule. *sigh*

I think I'll balance myself out between Revolution and PS3. I completely agree with Nintendo's philosophy of innovation and Sony's philosophy of "if its hi-tech; you'll like it!". Microsoft on the other hand should work on thier Windows Operating System that yeilds no end of problems to consumers. Thier policy is like Sony's except the only difference is they think consumer's will buy anything at any price. This is simply not true. Though I have to admit that all of the business world is out to take money from your pocket. Clear examples include Konami's Castlevania games for the Nintendo64 and Capcom's port of the popular ground breaking title Resident Evil 4 that includes a number of various features exclusive to the Playstation2 console.
It is rather unfortunate since I'm being forced to buy TWO consoles in order to play thier exclusive games. Looking back now, the Phantom would have saved people a lot of money, but lets face the fact that we the consumers, are part of the business world. Money, money, and gold, oil, just more money.
For the sake of the poll that has been set up, I voted for Revolution.
PM any comments(i've strayed a bit from the topic).

Tough question. DEFINATELY not an Xbox 360. Anyone who remembers the dreamcast knows what will happen. Video games have history too. I'm torn between the Revolution and PS3. I definately want a PS3, but recently I've heard that their online system is kinda messed...not as good as the other two. Revolution definately has by far the best online ability (I don't care what anyone says about Xbox live). The revolution controller definately is amazing. However I dont know exactly what they're gonna do with it. They had the touch screen for the DS, but I think that even though that was pretty spiffy and all, it really didn't do much. Unless they can completely utilize the Revolution controller, I'm probobly gonna go with PS3. Then again, I clicked bankrupcy...Cause I am XD

There is no way in hell I will be going to buy an Xbox 360. Wait, ok maybe there is a way in hell I would buy one, but that is beside the point. Anyway, I am leaning more towards the Ps3 than anything else. The only way I would be buying a Revolution is if Nintendo brings out a new Zelda or Metroid game on it. The reason I will not buy an Xbox 360, is because nothing has really jumped out at me about it, I mean the graphics look just like something from the Xbox. They do not look next gen at all. The Ps3 on the other hand has blown me away with how the games look. I also want to get Killzone 2, and Armored Core 4 as well, so that plays a key role in my decision. Metal Gear Solid 4 also plays a role in the same decision.
Well, duh. They're not in the industry just to supply you with fun games (or whatever else).Dragoon2044 wrote:Though I have to admit that all of the business world is out to take money from your pocket.
No one's forcing you. You're choosing. Part of the reason for getting exclusive games is just that -- they'll be exclusive so you, as a gamer, will be more inclined to buy that console. And, personally, I'm kinda glad the Phantom flopped ^_^;; I think it would have just made it that much easier to pirate games, and the industry would have been hurt.Dragoon2044 wrote:It is rather unfortunate since I'm being forced to buy TWO consoles in order to play thier exclusive games. Anyway, as for me, I'm only going to get the Revolution. I've become anti-Sony as of late, so no PS3 for me. And the Xbox 360? I can't stand Microsoft, so I'm not buying their products, either.
