Last year was their 20th. This year is .hack's 15th.Vallen wrote:Doubt it. They're not as a big a company as some giant Western developers. In that regard, there are only so many games they can be developing simultaneously. As of now, they're aiding FFVII Remake development, Naruto Storm 4 Expansion is almost out, their other mobile games they constantly pump out, that Third Person Shooter Original IP they mentioned like a year ago is being made - so I'm not sure they have the available manpower to work full-time on another big project.(Phantom) Thief wrote:Probably but hopefully they'll return with another console game around 3rd season timeline.
I may be persuaded to believe that very minor pre-production for the next .hack is happening in the background, but that would still mean it would be years before we hear of the game. Plus it's their 20th anniversary (they're advertising it through their entire website), so you would think there would be .hack something for this big date? But since there isn't, I suppose their priorities have shifted.
If anything, I could see another anime OVA or movie being a more likely scenario than a new game, as sad as that sounds
I don't know, maybe when the PS5 launches in a few years? Or maybe when they re-brand as CC3? Who knows, but I wouldn't have my hopes up.
I think it'll be either some news this year whether it be at E3 or TGS, or more likely when they break off from Bamco (as they seem to be with Project Venom and their new studio) and rebrand as CC3. .hack is their flagship series. It's what saved them from bankruptcy. I just feel like there's no way they can let it go, especially with how it's been since 2012.
I just want them to do one final movie, game, or something to wrap this all up and call it a day so I can stop crossing my fingers every year that something will happen. My ultimate dream: .hack's story is completed and they release The World FORCE:ERA so I can continue to enjoy the series forever. That'll never happen, though
