Just when you thought they couldn't possibly make Big Boss's life any shittier, even retroactively... this!

I'm not. The next gen systems are kind of worthless. This looks spectacular graphically. There are tech demos for PS4 that look worse than this. The PC version will probably exceed the new systems out of the box. There would be very little gain for the cost to everyone involved, and it all goes to the same kind of TV. So I'm glad they went with current gen. We'll have it in our hands a lot sooner, too.
Nice catch. Maybe Big Boss can use ROCKET PEACE!!!!
So am I the only one a little confused? I actually missed the Ground Zeroes trailer somehow so I'm going to go back and watch that, but I guess this means Portable Ops wasn't canon? Or FOX wasn't dissolved? So instead of founding FOXHOUND and leaving that to found MSF, Big Boss left FOX, went to MSF, rejoined FOX, and is now fighting against a splinter group from FOX that has nothing to do with the one in Portable Ops? Then he transitions to Diamond Dogs, eventually forming Outer Heaven based almost entirely off of what he had already established with MSF (which looks like it was destroyed by XOF) but not without also becoming commander of FOXHOUND (FOX + DIAMOND DOGS??)? Is it really this convoluted? I guess it will at least explain why the hell he went back. And answer the question no one really thought was unresolved but apparently is super important: why is Miller found dead in MGS?

So, it's finally announced as Metal Gear Solid V. It's indeed a game by Kojima Productions and with Hideo Kojima himself as the director (i'll miss you Joakim ;C lol). And i watched the trailer thingy. And i'm too excited to say anything about it. Just FDLKFDNGKFGKJ.
And i have the same questions as Kuukai and more, and even though i played Peace Walker and read all about Portable Ops (which i actually considered canon, just...different, i guess), i'm ENTIRELY LOST as well. And i still don't know WTF is going on with those flame beasts and stuff. I thought it was some drug-induced hallucination or something he's dreaming about during his coma...but i just don't know. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING BUT I'M LOVING IT ALL DDD8
And i actually love the fact that this is for the PS3... because it means i'll be able to play it XDD (AND I WILL AS SOON AS THIS COMES OUT, I HAVEN'T BEEN EXCITED ABOUT A GAME SINCE...PROBABLY MGS4 ITSELF DDDD8) But yeah, it actually looks brilliant enough for the PS3, though i won't be surprised if they'll also announce a PS4 version. Maybe for the new Xbox too, if it comes early next year. Does this game even have a release date already? D:

we've seen weirder things in the MGS series, guy savage, aliens, I feel asleep, Granin, the sorrow, mooing gecko's, the end's ghost, psycho mantis, Vulcan Raven, Liquid Ocelot, and who can forget little gray?
What it reminds me most of is The Fury when he was a giant flaming head. But yeah, it's happened. There are only a few "true" supernatural things in Metal Gear, but they're there. Volgin, The Sorrow, The Mantises, assorted semi-canon psychics, Paz's ability to glow, Vulcan Raven a little, and the Fury for that one scene. At least they explained away vampires with nanotechnology.
Aside from an ugly monkey and **** Chico says (I can't believe he's still around), though, when were there aliens?
So I guess in MGSV: Ground Zeroes Big Boss goes after Pacifica Ocean held by XOF, MSF gets TRAMPLED, and he wakes up 9 years later with a serious headache and a new organization for a new game? Maybe that's what happens? Big Boss is in serious danger of Ryou Misaki-level brain damage after suffering so many different comas though. Wasn't a coma before Peace Walker the reason they started cloning him?
One thing I still want is Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 cameos. I want to meet Kyle Schneider. Enough with Chico. Seriously. This raises serious questions about why Outer Heaven didn't have some sort of cryptid dinosaur project.

"Something happened to me last thursday when I was driving home, I had a couple of miles to go, I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky, to the east, it was moving very irregularly, suddenly there was intense light all around me-- When I came to, I was home."

Using that quote as proof of alien activity in the MGS series is like using the "I need scissors" phrase as proof of purple stuffed worms activity in flap-jaw space D: lol

Yeah I was gonna say, it's stated by a man with no car and no home... who isn't even a man, actually....
He looks roughly like Clint Eastwood from that time period, as he's supposed to. This is 20-something years after MGS3. Big Boss is starting to cross over from 90's Kurt Russell to 80's Sean Connery.
When does Big Boss even speak in the trailer? I'm an Ohtsuka fan, so I don't care, but I think Kaz, Doctors, and Olga's Mom (or maybe just a regular Russian lady) are the only people who speak in the trailer.
((Caution, the Video is quite graphic))
Anybody else Excited for it? It's a available for all Platforms(Except Wii and Wii U) and maybe even PC, And Big Boss changes his codename to Punished Snake after all the hell he went through for this Game.
I watched the trailer the day it was out. I was amazed and shocked. I watched it about 3 more times. Then i watched the extended version. I cried. I screamed. I watched it about 5 more times. I rewatched it even now while reading this topic. I don't think saying that i'm excited is enough to describe my feelings for this game DDDD8'
Also, KAAAAAAAAZ DDDD;

I felt the same way when watching the Trailer, and anybody else notice something about Eli? The blond haired kid? SNAKELIQUID
It really seems like Kojima is once again trying to out do himself with this MGS. Sadly I believe that PC will receive the "best" version of this, but hopefully PS3 isn't too far behind as his team has great expertise with programming for it.
